Well I eventually stop playing all games...but the top ones that consumed thousands of hours of my time would have to be Final Fantasy XI clocking in at over 4,800 hours played...it was more of an addiction than having fun playing it. There were times where I hated signing on and playing but I just HAD to get some more experience or something.

Other is Socom 1 and 2 for ps2. These were my favorites in the series by far and I easily put in around 5-6,000 hours combined between the two games over many years. It was more for the community of gamers I played with mixed with some solid gameplay.

Lol Pete, you really must have an obsession (or had) with Socom. I hear you mention it all the time in random videos and whatnot.
jagjaxon I'm with you man, I used to play WoW off and on (mostly on) for a long time. Been off for almost a year now and trying to stay that way. I've been avoiding anything to do with the expansion and how cool it might be...
Other than that I've played Counter Strike forever and I actually got a bit addicted this last fall (didn't have much else to do) so I played like 2-3 hours everyday and got into the whole cal ranked matches and whatnot...it was frantic, then I realized I should lay off so I haven't played in a couple months haha.

Thanks,
-Cody

I have had a sealed copy of WoW sitting in my room for about 2+ years now. I refuse to open it because I know that A) My computer will run it like crap and B) I will get addicted and play nothing else!

The games I got most addicted to were Pokemon Crystal, Picross DS, NCAA Football 2004, and more recently Fallout 3.

Phantasy Star Online - 5, 200 hours in a span of 8 years..

Seriously, I've been playing the game back since Dreamcast! It's much better than World of Warcraft or Final Fantasy XI, but then again maybe it's more of the style and theme I'm attracted to than the content.

Pete-You would be addiction, leave it sealed haha, although it pry won't ever be worth anything (maybe in a really long time) because Blizzard will just keep making expansions so they'll need the origional, haha they love money I think.
Aww, jascl22 you made me remember that not so forgettable pokemon era, when I was a kid I carried my gameboy color, a pokemon game locked in and a bag of batteries and stared at the small screen non-stop. The pokemon addiction definitely hit me!
MidiaNita, I haven't played Phantasy Star Online, but WoW is just very easy to sit and play forever because of how rewarding it is and how complete and detailed it is, and you never run out of stuff to do. So it might not be the best game ever, but it is certainly the most addicting.

Thanks,
-Cody

I would have to agree Gears Of War was the reason I chose the 360 over the PS3 great game. GoW 2 is a great game too you can't rush like you could in the original that's something I do miss :( .

Sonic 2!!! Man o man every day all day from ages 4-10 and if I still had it I would pop in the cartridge daily. Other than that Wow took up about 400hours of my life, and the Pokemon games for gba/ds probably around 1,500hrs combined. Halo2 took a good chunk as well

I could have easily got addicted to Phantasy Star Universe if I were not so put off by its monthly fee. At the time I was paying for FFXI, Gamefly, and XBL Gold so another monthly fee seemed crazy. I would play it now but I would feel way too far behind everyone else.

Seeing that you're a zealous DS fan, Phantasy Star Zero is your best bet in getting into the Phantasy Star MMO franchise. I'm not sure how it will live up to PSO, but judging by the videos I've seen I can safely say it looks more interesting than Universe.

Phantasy Star Portable is releasing on the PSP in March, which is generally an improved Universe, if PSU is what you were interested in. However, the game isn't as tough or lenghty as PSO, FFXI or WoW are.

Star Ocean: The Second Story. God I wasted so many glorious hours on that game, and the recently released remake was like a wet dream to me! Too bad they had some crappy renames in it.. if they never bothered to translate Gyoro and Ururun in the original release to what they really mean, why change it all of a sudden? D:

Well you can always hope! I just got my nextgen, 360, a couple months ago so I'm a bit behind the curve as well! Over time they'll get cheaper so you've got that to look forward to!

Thanks.
