I think this is a great idea, however I would personally wait until the forum was a bit more a long, not saying that it isn't active as it is right now, but it's still a new forum. In a few months or so when users have grown accustomed to one another I think there would be more posts as well as more confidence in going towards putting up games for trades/sale.

I mentioned this to Pete yesterday and I think it's good idea. As long as people link to their ebay profile with good feedback (and proove that is actually theirs) we could create a safe traders list that people could check before making deals. And as long as the people who are buying things from others pay with Paypal everything should be fine.

Get a Safe Traders List going and it would work extremely well

Though I sorta agree with Porcelain that this might be something more beneficial if it showed up say a month from now after the regular members are seperated from just the ones who post for a few days and never show up again. If someone has 600 posts a month from now, I would say that they are more than likely going to be a trusted seller right off the bat even if they have no feedback just because they support the community so much. As opposed to say a month from now a member with 2 posts with a selling thread. Right now everyone is sorta on equal ground....so you know what I think we should leave this poll up for now just to see the interest and in about a month I will start up the Buying/selling/trading forum. Everyone else agree?

I think that's a good idea. That'll be enough time for everyone to be able to see how things pan out.

A lot of sites are doing this so I see it as a great idea.Sites like Goozex and Cheapassgamer had really good setup in regards to trading games and cheapassgamer relies heavily on honesty amongst the community.

If it does get added, I don't reccomend that anyone ever suggests that deals get done through here. Possibly it could work if you used a well known sales site like Ebay to sell the item and posted it here to peek peoples interest. The problem i'm seeing is that if you center the sales here, you could attract scammers and such, and no one wants that happening.

I don't know how to personally prevent this, but it's something to keep it mind, don't just use this forum for transactions!

We'd have a feedback section and a trusted sellers list to prevent fraud. :)

Makes sense to wait for people to build a bit of rep before starting that section. Good Idea!

Yeah I think everything PeteDorr is saying is right and the perfect way to do things. I've found some stuff on CraigsList and have some extra stuff of my own which I'd really like to sell or trade, and I'd like to do it here where I know it will go to good use (contributing to someone's collection).

I added a poll to the topic, everyone vote!
well , u got 30 after i voted YES! this is gonna be nice. i live overseas (norway) so i don't know how much i can use the trade board, so hope that some will be open to ship stuff over here if i bid on something. ;)

As long as it is specified in the thread, I'm sure that wouldn't be an issue.

I have a lot of international viewers (not sure how many are on forum I know there are a few though), but like I said in like 3 weeks or so maybe more will show up. I'm sure if the topic title specifies PAL items that will help.

I'm interested in this for sure and I'm one of the UK users, what Pete said is right, specifying the region of the item (NTSC, PAL etc) for sale would sort out that little problem. :)

This is a good idea. On some action figure websites I hang out on they have trading forums, but they are really strict. If you are a new member you most likely can not post there, and they have a great feedback system. This would be great for this site as well, but after it grows a little more.

Also Maybe transactions can only go up to a certian amount or you have to have a lot of rep to buy something for over 100 dollars. You would probably have to make a thing saying that "we are not reliable for blabababba" but it could probably work as a more personal ebay.

I for one love forum based trading. Small nit communities are usually populated with people looking to help one another out. I also think waiting is a good idea before starting the forum.

Agreed. Give it a month's time to establish who's really active in the community. Good idea. I wouldn't want to lose any games in a trade or anything.

I was just think the same thing, we need to give a little more time to establish a community before we start trading.
