Are there any other people who love the Shining Force series? For people who havent played it, its pretty much the same thing as Final Fantasy Tactics (Strategy RPG)

My favorite is probably the 2nd one. The newer ones are more Action RPG but they are still pretty tight.

I played the 3rd one on the Saturn and I liked it. I had to sell it though because we were having money trouble, But I'd love to pick it up again, great game.

The 3rd one is awesome. I have an Import copy of it. But later on I downloaded it and made a burned copy of the US version and did the swap trick.

It goes for a lot of money on ebay!

Yay! More Shining Force fans. Shining Force was actually the first game I'd ever played. I love the Genesis, and Sega CD versions. I heard they were coming up with some sort of Shining Force soon. Look at ign. The gameplay in these games is amazing!

I love shining force. I have the Genesis version somewhere. I rented a lot of SF2 in the late 90's when you still could rent Genesis titles. I beat both of them pretty much doing nothing else. SF CD is epic, unfortunately I only have an ISO of that but always looking for a reasonable copy.

I wanted to play the Saturn games badly but I got rid of my saturn before the US release of the only SF game was released. Maybe one day. I actually like Shining Force Exa on the PS2. Really enjoy it. I love playing the Genesis Collection on PS3 for the first 2 :)

I love Shining Force. I used to play them on my Genesis all the freaking time back in the day. I also have Shining Force CD and all three scenarios of Shining Force III for my Sega Saturn (all imports). Definitely one of my favorite series of all time. I don't have the Genesis cartridges anymore, but I have that Sonic Sega Collection for the PS3 and it has Shining Force 1 and 2 on there, so that's good enough.

I think I have all the games, asides the GBA Gautlet type game. Very fun considering SHining is practically Y's and has much to do with TOP. GoldenSun is reallly Shining force as a turn based game.
We are all being lied to. We need to stop buying new videogames, destroy every 360, Wii, and PS3 you can find, including ones in stores. . Funcoland died when the evil gamestop took over. There is no more dragons den. Burn all the new videogames. destroy, and burn all 3d neo games. Fill ever forum with the message that we all need to hear.

Yeah is love the Genesis games and the remake for GBA! One of the best RPG's ever!
Paid a crapload of money for the original SF to Genesis, and it was worth it.

Shining Force is on the Ipod? Never would have expected that.

I was so very lucky to get Shining Force II and Shining Force for the Genesis for free from a friend when I was rebuilding a scrap Genesis over 10 years ago. He wanted to help me out and was already into the Playstation era and decide to give me the game for free. I ended up getting Romance of the Three Kingdoms III (complete) and Warsong (missing the manual but has the box) for free from the same guy as well.

Shining Force CD has some how always managed to evade me. I just never have found a copy of the game for a reasonable price online or in person to warrant a purchase of it yet. Same goes for Sword of Hajya for the GG.

I had to pay 220 dollars for a mint copy of Shining Force III (American scenario 1) and it killed me to pay that but it's a good game. The GBA remake Resurrection of Dark Dragon is a good GBA remake if you want to experience the game as well. It should also be on various other Sega collections like the one on the DC and PC (Sega Smash Pack vol. 1). The Virtual Console has the first 2 as well.

Well theres 3 of them on the sega collection on 360, but my cousin has a borrow of it so i cant play it. The Ipod version is just a straight port, though the sound is a bit wierd at times.
Looking at shining force cd on ebay now and damn...pal versions are just astronomical in price!

I've got Sonics Ultimate Genesis collection and I forgot that the first 2 Genesis games were on there. Shining in the Darkness is another beast entirely as it's a lot more like Phantasy Star. Just shares the name Shining in the title and some in game item names and that's about it. As the Shining Series has branched out so much it's so sad to see that Sega has never gone back to the Strategy RPG aspect at all in years and years since Shining Force III.

Shining Force CD has remained at those constant prices online for nearly 10 years. They haven't budged pretty much at all in that time frame.

I may just have to bite the bullet and get it on mega cd, really trying to work on my mega cd and master system collections. Just loving mega cd just now.

Whats the differences between MD and MCD versions? Just better audio and a few cutscenes?

Totally different games. They aren't related at all from what I know other then the fact that they are Strategy RPGs and that CD is supposedly one of the best games on the Sega CD (Mega CD) and an excellent SF game. I think there is a small tie to the GG release of Sword of Hajya to CD but that's about it. It's just it's own stand alone title.

Ah ok, i thought it waould have just been the same but with little additions here and there like most other mcd games. I'll finish the first and maybe see about getting that...we'll see how my financial situation is first though haha.

No doubt :P. Check out Shining Force II as well. That's my personal favorite of the ones I have played (only have played 1-3 and not the side stories like CD or SoH but will some day). I think Shining Force II has the best balance and characters as a whole. III could have been even better had they released the entire game in North America and Europe. I'm sure it's pretty good if you can get the Japanese premium pack and can read it.

No translations as of yet? Enjoying SF1 just now, bit tedious moving inventory around and checking stats but quite fun as a whole. The music is fantastic and i love the over the shoulder view for the battles. Just a shame i missed out on it in its prime.
