For me, this gen is definitely worse. Just looking at my games, my current gen collection is filled with shooters and WRPG's which are some of my least favourite genres(out of the ones I like) whereas my last gen collection is filled with platformers, JRPG's and action games like God of War and Devil May Cry. So for me it's about the genres more than the quality of the games. But when I do compare what games I can, last gen wins. Fable - Fable 2 Halo 2 - Halo 3 Ninja Gaiden - Ninja Gaiden 2 DMC3 - DMC4 PoP SoT - PoP MGS3 - MGS4 And i'm pretty sure Resident Evil will join the list too when I play RE5. Plus that isn't even mentioning what I feel are the best games of last gen because this gen has nothing comparable. Games like Final Fantasy X, God of War, the Zelda titles, SOTC, Ico, Kingdom Hearts and Jak and Daxter. |

Well it is still early in this gen. Many great games will be coming down the road. I will say that so far there is a little less variety than usual, although its starten to even out a little. There is still a huge shortage of solid RPG's though |

Well in my opinion you cant really generalize a whole generation for being good or bad as some of my favourite games lie in every generation. So the only way I could judge it is the amount of quality games and obviously that will be the last as this generation is still quite early. |

Well, maybe in the RPG area, last gen wins. We need killer RPG games. |

Yeah because everything has been done, we are only improving games very slightly now not making outstanding breakthroughs like before with the exceptions of games like LittleBigPlanet etc. |

this, see, why cant people make fantasy games, its all fps (well i say all i mean mostly) What happened to taking risks and making unique rpgs i think this gen is terrible, i still find myself going back to older games But so far very impressed with (next gen) :tomb raider :prince of persia :disgaea They have kept their charm |

You have to take into account that this gen is still a baby. Sure, there were a decent amount of games out in the first 3-4 years of the PS2, XBOX, and so forth, but it took years for the libraries to grow to the sizes that they are now. |

I LOVE RPGs (no preference of WRPGS or JRPGS) and action games like God of War, Saints Row, Grand Theft Auto, True Crime NYC etc. I feel that too many developers are worried about making a bad game and making something new. Most new games now-a-days are shooters. I want to see more RPGs, action games, adventure and plat-forming games. I'm only buying 1 more FPS this year and that is Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2, and that's my shooter for the year (along side Killzone 2). I'm trying to buy more games like InFAMOUS and Fallout 3. I'm also going to be selling a lot of my 360 games and maybe a couple PS3 to expand on my PS2 collection, because as Pete said, it is the greatest system of all time (I think he said that =]). |

Maybe we have lesser games this gen but the quality of video games today are just perfect. So what if we have less games? What matters is we have these games that we can play for a long while. |

in my opinion better in some aspects example:graphics online gameing and selection here are some of the worse things in my opinion: No one goes over to there friends to play games they play live or psn or even wifi and no one browses game stores anymore when they go in a game store they know exactly what they want |
