Well I don't know about cheap. There's always ebay. Nintendorepairshop.com sells refurbished ones for $70 which isn't too bad since they're tested and work. You can sometimes find cheap ones that people think are broken because the pins are ruined. It'll cost you $11 or so to replace those and it's pretty easy to do.

If money is an issue though you might be better off with a clone system at least temporarily. You can find stuff like the Yobo FC pretty cheap or the FC Twin which plays SNES games too. More recently the FC 3 which also adds Genesis games.

If you have any indepently owned gamer stores around you, they usually sell stuff like that. If you live in canada "Hock shop" is a great place for that. Of course ebay (but you may not get them cheap)

Cheapest I've seen is 35 bucks (with 6 games) on craigslist. You can always bend the pins on the connector back if they don't work.

You can usually find used NES at garage sales for around 2-5 dollars. If you don't have that luck you can try second hand stores, thrift stores, anyplace that sell older games. Some places I hear are good are Cash Converters, and Play N' Trade.

If you want DIRT CHEAP, a garage sale is your best bet.

I bought mine with a copy of mario 3 and yoshis cookie for 5$ [for the bundle] - it was played by 2 girls about 3 times and then shoved in a closet so it's been in a sort of limbo for the past 15 years before I bought it. It's essentially a BRAND NEW NES! And I got it for 5 BUCKS!
Hey all, my name's Tyler and I am an RPG fanatic! I'm collecting for the PS2 and the DS. I also have a comedy website called Throne of Eden which is very crude and often-times offensive since we like to push the boundries of socially acceptable topics and language, but it's just more fun that way!

Dude people are buying into this whole "junk for treasure" thing. It's not worth $50. I wouldn't pay more then maybe $10-20 for one.
Go look at garage sales, thrift stores etc.

You have to hunt if you want them for cheap. Example, I found one at a flea market for 3 bucks that works better than the one I use, but I gave it to a friend as a gift. It's all luck.
