The Xbox 360 is better in every way except for reliability. That's one thing that I miss about the original Xbox is just how durable that thing was. It was built like a tank, and I dropped it so many times, but even 7 years later it still works like the day I bought it.

360 on the other hand has better online, a larger variety of games, and a better controller. However, it's built like crap. I take such good care of it, and no matter what the damn thing breaks. :'( I've literally lost count of how many times I've sent it into Microsoft. lol.

If I play it too much it breaks. If I don't play it for a month it breaks. Damn thing is never satisfied! One negative about Xbox 360 compared to the Original is that it doesn't have KOTOR.

I may be alone in thinking this, but I actually like the Xbox controller more than the 360 controller. Don't know why, but I just like it design better. The only real problem I have with the xbox controller is that the wires aren't made very well, so I would be in the middle of the game and it would tell me to reconnect the controller, which would usually mean that I would have to get up and attach the top half of the wire to the bottom half.

Another good part about the Xbox is the durability. I have been horrible to my xbox, dropping it, throwing my controller at it, and other crazy things, yet it always kept on trucking. The only time I had to buy a new one was because I went on a trip to Texas for a week, and I accidentally left it one, so it overheated.

A good part about the Xbox 360 is it's wireless controllers, so I can sit far away from the console without having to move up closer. I also think it's neat how I can turn it off or on without moving from my seat, and even open the disk tray (though that doesn't really help, considering I still have to get up to remove the disk and put in a new one). A major difficulty I had with the wireless controllers is that they just tore through batteries. I know that I really should get rechargeable batteries, but I just never bothered with it.

Although the Xbox has a great selection of games, I think Xbox 360's game library is where it really excels. There is a game for everyone on the Xbox 360!
RPG enthusiast? There's Fable 2, Oblivion, Tales of Vesperia, Fallout 3, Mass Effect 1 and 2, Blue Dragon, Star Ocean, and many, many more.
FPS buff? You could play Bioshock 1 and 2, the Halo series, The Orange Box, the Call of Duty Series, or Left 4 Dead 1 and 2.
Action zealot? Try Dante's Inferno, Assassin's Creed 1 and 2, Red Dead Redemption, Alan Wake, or Batman: Arkham Asylum.
Strategy fanatic? Put your brain to work with Civilization Revolution, or any of the Worms games (I LOVE Worms!!).
Do you have a need for speed? There's Need for Speed (:P), Blur, the Forza Motorsport series, DiRT, PGR series, Sonic and Sega All Star Racing, and a plethora of other games.
Sports devotee? How about MLB 2K10, NBA 2K10, Madden 10, NCAA 10, Tiger Woods PGA Tour 10 (if you want to buy a Tiger Woods game...), Fifa 2010, UFC Undisputed, WWE Smackdown, or any of the other billions of sports games on the Xbox 360.
Platformer? Banjo-Kazooie, Braid, Castlevania, Mega Man 10, and Sonic the Hedgehog are all good choices, besides Sonic the Hedgehog. Seriously, don't get it.
Music lover? You have the Rock Band and Guitar Hero series, or some of the other relatively obscure music games to choose from.
Not only does the xbox 360 have these great games, it can also play most of the original Xbox's games!

The Xbox 360 has a great movie player, has outstanding online, and a wide variety of arcade games. For these reasons and the reasons above, I would have to give my vote to the Xbox 360.

I personally like them both but the Xbox Original had some many games that revolutionized the gaming industry.
Online yes, but playstation 2 did a lot more.
Yes the ps2 had a ton of games but alot werent very good. Mostly crap JRPGs that dont have mass appeal to western audiences.

The xbox is the king of Western RPGs and the king of RPGs in my book. I only consider western RPGs to be true RPGs since they contain the most true RPG elements.
I've got to disagree, I hate the D&D style western RPGs, they're so cliche and they all have more or less the same plot line. JRPGs are intuitive and constantly changing, yeah you have your generic games, as with every genre but at least there is plot twists and a diverse cast of characters. Every western RPG seems to just involve the cast of golden axe, the stereo typical war hardened dwarf, the human character who is a bit useless and always upset and the emo elf spell caster. It's all to cliche for me.

Although the argument could all too easily be made for the opposite, citing the ever-present JRPG cliches, there are many gems that have transcended them and full engrossed players the same way that Morrowind does (see 'Persona 4'.) I love Mass Effect 1&2, KOTOR, Jade Empire, and Oblivion was pretty good in my book, but I also prefer traditional RPGs. To say that WRPGs contain the most true 'RPG elements' is an opinion, one which you didn't even support. To be honest, I don't think anyone can say which is better, they're just two different ways to tell a story. I don't find one as engaging as the other, just like everyone else, and you're entitled to your opinion, just next time support it and don't throw it around like a fact.

What? That is a really contrived argument. The assumptions you are making on behalf of the entire western audience is kind of off putting. That is like saying Western audiences all love sports games. It just isn't true and while some games go under the radar the JRPG market is pretty big to Americans, Canadians and Mexican and South American markets. In fact, westerners as a whole are the largest consumers of Anime and Manga. We won't even hop over the pond and mention the crazy French love with Manga... We [westerners] are kotaku, resistance is futile.

On your second statement, about western RPG being true RPGs... wow... another contrived argument.

How do you define true RPG elements? Are we to go back to Bard's Tale and Zork for the answers? Or are we going to say if something doesn't fit the Dungeons and Dragons archetype that refuses any other cultures ques unless it can fit into the stat sheet?

Quite frankly the genre is so loosely defined that it could encumber many other games not classified as RPGs. You might prefer the archetypes from DnD or Warhammer but holy crap dude, if Persona 3 and 4 aren't some of the most honest to the words Role Playing then I have no idea what one is.

When I say RPG elements I mean actually getting to Roleplay. JRPGs lack this as they do not allow you to build a character in anyway. You mostly always start out with a premade character and a permade scripted story that you have to follow. Thats like the complete opposite of a RPG, which means Role Playing Game. There is no RolePlaying in JRPGs.

But western RPGs for the most part allow you to build a character from ground up, whether you want to be a fighter, theif, diplomatic character that talks his way through a game. This is what JRPs lack. They also lack alot of charater customization that allows you to build a trully unique character. This is found in western RPGs.

I find it funny how people in here misread the question...

it says Just wondering which u prefer to play your original xbox games

not which console's games do you prefer.

I prefer the original xbox for original xbox games... a lot of original xbox titles can not be played on the 360's emulation.
