I'm not just spamming the site, I've been a member there for a long time and have collaborated with members for live trivia games, lists of the best movies, most gory and controversial flicks, best vintage horror, overlooked gems and more. It's a great resource whether you're into horror or are just getting into it.

I prefer the two extremes of horror, on one hand I love the suspense-filled atmospheric movies of the 20's,30's and 40's however I also love the overly gory slasher films and stuff like evil dead.

Most other forms of horror that rely on jump scares don't interest me :(

My favourites are dracula, bride of frankenstien, nightmare on elm street 3 and evil dead 2.

There's aren't really my favorite horror movies, but I thought I'd mention them because I rarely ever see them talked about.

Dominion: Prequel to the Exorcist

Do not confuse this with Exorcist: The Beginning, directed by Renny Harlin, this is the original version directed by Paul Schrader. It suffers from some bad CGI due to having almost no post-production budget, but it does have some really good old fashioned optical effects. For me, Dominion, the original Exorcist, and Exorcist III make up a proper Exorcist trilogy.

Frailty

Another theological thriller, directed by Bill Paxton (yes, that Bill Paxton). There's actually no gore and very little blood, but a lot of the horror is conveyed through the facial expressions of the two kids. It really warps your sense of morality.

John Carpenter's Vampires

An action-horror movie with plenty of graphic violence and gore, starring James Woods and Daniel Baldwin. It's about a modern day professional vampire hunter who's hired by the Catholic Church to clear out vampire "nests." A campy good time!

In the Mouth of Madness

Another John Carpenter film, this time more psychological, and perhaps owing some inspiration to H.P. Lovecraft.
