Do you ever read the manuals in a game case?
I never used to, but I have started to read every manual before touching the game now.

I rarely do unless I really need to find something out about the game or am extremely bored.

I look at them just to see the character arts or if I don't know how to save the game.

I sometimes do, for games like God of War 1 me and my friend had to go through the manual to beat it, but I may read them if I'm super bored.

Almost always. the only time i dont read it is if the game is a first person shooter and the booklet is like 4 pages long and full of stuff that you will learn in the first 5 minutes of the game. RPGS its a must for me

Only for PC games and RTS's. PC games are always more complex so you need to know all the keyboard shortcuts. RTS games sometimes can have complex controls also. But other than that, no not really. I glance at it sometimes as soon as I open the game.

I only read them if there is something i wonder about the controls or if theres something special about the combat in a rpg for example. But besides that i rarely read them.

Most games for the current generation have great tutorials at the begging of the game informing you how to play. Unless something is not explained within these sections, i would never touch the manual.

Yeah I love reading them. I read them while watching TV or if I'm bored.

Ds Games!

In rpgs I read them often and they have been helpful in games like the dark spire and etrian odyssey, and I look through all the other ones just to see if there's anything interesting or nice looking.

I used to when I was younger but now I never do. When I buy a game I usually just look for promotional slips to throw out and pre-order / purchases codes to use. After that I just take the game in and out for playing never touching the manual.

for the older atari or coleco ones yeah, but that's because the manual is absolutely necessary in these

I sometimes do if the game includes relatively obscure controls or themes.
The latest manuals I've found useful in any way were those from Persona 3 FES, and Gungriffon Blaze.

Persona's manual not only includes the typical pages introducing the characters and controls, but also a chart helping in known what results you will get from fusing particular personas together.

Gungriffon Blaze has a relatively obscure control layout to begin with, and so the manual helped alot. At the same time, near the end of the manual it gives out information including maps, short briefings, and primary objective locations of each mission in the game, so it's really a built in strategy guide.

Just the other day I found a DMC3 manual in my bag. I was bored on a long bus ride so I read it. Wish I still had that game :(

Only for fighting games nowadays to learn how to do combos. Most other manuals are worthless especially ones from Activison, EA, and Ubisoft games. Surprisingly Deadly Premonition which is one of the worst/most awesome games this generation, has a thick full colored manual that's worth a look.

I like the manuals for most of the older games. I'll still glance at the manuals for newer games, but they have seemingly lost their flair:(

this depends alot. i usually read it when im in the car driving back home from the store (im not driving ofc :P) if im some where away from home and i buy a game and wont go back home right away i will probably read it from cover to cover, if its a pc game i probably will read it while the game is installing.
