So why do you collect games? Is it because you have a passion for gaming? Looking to invest and sell for profit later in life? Just like having the collection? Let everyone know why. Well for me, I'm starting to collection all Playstation system games, PS1, PS2, and PS3. I love Sony, they are my favorite company. I have a passion for gaming and it is a larger part in my life, I also want to give as much support to Sony as I can. I lvoe the franchises they have created, like God of War, Ratchet and Clank, Socom, Uncharted, Killzone, Jak and Daxter, Klonoa (did they crate the franchise? correct me if I'm wrong), Syphon Filter, the list goes on and on. There are so many great games for all 3 systems. Now when it comes to collecting for the PS1 and PS3 it can be kind of expensive, the PS3 for obvious reasons, games are just so expensive now. The reason the PS1 is expensive for me is because I cannot use Ebay, well for one I'm not allows to (only 15 =\) and I also don't have paypal. I'm restricted to Garage sales which I don't go to often and just local stores, which are verrrry few where I live. Hopefully in the near future I can use Ebay. There is this one website called Kijiji where you have to meet the person to buy it from them, so I may see if there are lots for games on there. |

I collect because I love gaming. I grew up playing video games and over time just have ended up having a lot of them. I try to play all the games I buy not saying I beat them all, but RPG games is my favorite genre and keeping up with them is a hard task when you work a full week as well. Sometimes I will impulse buy something because the case just keeps calling out to me or because its made by a certain company I like (I am a sucker for Atlus games, so I impulse bought Arcana Heart's when it came out) but 99% of the time I can tell if I would play the game or not just by checking out the case. For fun. Not really for nostalgic reasons, just for fun. I enjoy playing the games I own and eventually you get bored so you buy a new one and soon enough you have a collection. I also think it looks cool to have a large collection=) |

Unfortunately I've just started collecting for the newer systems, such as the 360, PS3, DS and GBA. I would like to collect for the older systems but unfortunately my brother and I use to share consoles, (well they were technically his, I was never allowed to own my own) We had lots of PS1 games and lots of PS2 games, though when he wanted something new he would trade them in towards new games, since they were his I couldn't really say anything. He ended up trading a collection of about 70 Games towards an xbox that never really worked and FFonline. Ugh. Some of those games were even mine because at that point I also had a PS2, we pooled our collection together and he decided to trade in some of my titles without telling me. I collect because I love games, and they are one of my major pastimes, so I love popping in a game and relaxing for a bit and having a good time, and now that I can solely call them mine I won't have problems where my games are sold. I don't plan on ever selling them for profit, unless I come to a point in life where I'm really tight on cash to use towards something of more importance. Sometimes it's good to have a rare game just to acknowledge you're lucky enough to own it, without the intention of making profit on it. |

It started off as nostalgia and kinda grew into something greater than that, cause now i seem to be buying all these things i missed out on at the time of thier release. Sega saturn, Mega CD etc. Im not a collecter really, i just want to play great games. This generation isn't doing it for me...we should have progressed more than this IMO. |

Ever since I can remember I loved games. I started with my Sega Genisis, I loved playing Sonic, and beileve it or not Shaq Fu.(I was young lol) Then I remember getting my playstation 1, I loved platformers like Spyro and Crash. Then I discovered Final Fantasy 7 and fell in love with RPG's. Then much later I found LOCKEDOWN and Petes videos, and started collecting myself. |

Nostalgia in the beginning, but after awhile I realized that I love games in general. It's cool to be able to go back and play games that I never had a chance to play. It also caters to my packrat mentality; collecting just comes naturally to me and makes me feel good, haha. I don't think I'll ever sell any of my games; I've never sold a game in my life. |

I'm what I would call a casual collector, and I do it because it's fun. I love finding good deals and I love displaying games on my shelves. Personally, I'm not one who likes to find cool games that are expensive. I think it's a lot more satisfying to say "Oh yeah, that game? I got that for $20!". Maybe that's just me though. |

For nostalgic reasons just now - I'm actually going to try and rebuy every single game I've ever owned. Master System to the PS2, should be pretty fun. My YouTube channel is in my sig so if you want to follow along feel free. I think after I get all these games though, it's going to turn into something more. So I collect for nostalgia, and just for the sake of having a collection really. |

I have sold my games many times in the past. But I always want to reply certain games. So now I am just rebuilding my collection and holding on to the games I really like. I play and beat my games. I am a gamer first and a collector second. I don't really see the point of having a whole butt load of games unless they are all good. My plan is to have my all time favorite games up on a shelf that I can access easily. Then I am going to take the ok games and put them in big tupperware containers. And the crap games I will give away or sell for cheap in big lots. |

I currently collect for the PS1, DS, PSP, and the occasional PS2 game. I used to have a collection of over 150 games for the PS2 and most of them were rare RPGs, etc. I traded them all in at a time where they were still worth trading in. I got over 30 bucks for a lot of them and used this massive amount of credit towards buying a 360 which was a good and bad decision. I then built up a 360 library which I traded in later when I got a job at a video and video game rental store. I collect for nostalgia reasons I suppose. The PS1 is and forever will be my all time favourite system and was most of my childhood. Collecting for that allows me to play all the titles I missed out on. It allows for all the good memories I had as a child to live on. I have never sold a PS1 game. |

I've always loved collecting things. Video games just seemed perfect because you can find old stuff for cheap. Plus it feels great to find a rare game for cheap...which happens sometimes.

Seems as though no-one here collects to sell it in the future, thought I'd see at least one person. It really sucks because here in Canada, EB Games has a very shit selection of PS2,3, and PSP games. |

Honestly, I haven't been collecting that long, about a year come this Sept 1st. (Started at Webster, everybody that lives in Florida knows what I'm talking about) I've always loved games, and collecting for that matter, but never decided to mix the two until a year ago. In my earlier ages I tried collecting Trading cards, sports cards, action figures and everything, but nothing seemed to click. At age 2 or 3, I stated playing my SNES and my love for gaming grew from there. I still have all my original N64, SNES GBC boxes(I thank my mom for that, she never throws ANYTHING away) I also enjoy the atmosphere of collecting, and by that I mean Flea markets, pawn shops, thrift stores ETC. All-in-All, I collect to have fun, not only playing the games, but searching for them as well.

I collect because gaming was a large part of my childhood, and I love how a game can take me back to a happy time in my life when I was care free and had no worries. It's really great to find a game for the SNES or N64 I never got to play and see what I missed out on. And I love seeing a huge stack of PS2 games next to my TV. |

Gaming has been a huge part of my life. I've only just started seriously collecting, but I just love looking at a shelf filled with games. Even if you may never play a certain game again, it's fun to just pick it up one day and recall the good (or bad) memories you have about that game. |

I started to collect seriously about a year ago. I have played games since I was 6 years old and now It is one of the biggest passions I got. And I would like to look on my collection the day I stop gaming and see all the great titles there that I have played over the years. Because It has been such a big part of my life and probably will be for a long time. That is my goal, I don't collect to have every single game on the consoles I got. Some people do that, but I'd rather have quality than quantity. |

Well I didn't really start collecting til here recently. I've had nintendo consoles and the sony consoles throughout my life. I'm currently collecting for the original Xbox the PS2(somewhat) and for the PS3. I got my DS Lite in the mail today so that is another console added to my collecting list as I enjoy playing on it. I have a PSP but don't really wanna collect for it for some weird reason. I have a passion for gaming ever since I was 7 or 8. Didn't decide to collect til recently. So I guess a passion for me turned into a hobby. |

Gaming is my second favorite hobby next to Sports(Watching mostly). I just think collecting is really fun though really expensive. I guess I am living the young life right now, University and all and not really concerned about my financial status. I think things will change once I graduate though and collecting will go way down in priority, but for now I am enjoying it alot and hopefully I will keep the collection for a long time. If that doesn't work out I will make a descent chunk of profit selling my stuff, but not planning on it any time soon. |
