Do you mean as in the safety of your xbox or bad in general? I haven't heard it causing any problems for the xbox itself from friends. My friend offered to get my 360 modified but I think it's sort of wrong that developers are putting hard work into games and people think it's ok to get them illegally. Also I prefer collecting games, and getting them for free wouldn't help me get more games. |

if your 360 is still within the warranty period i wouldnt even think about it... just incase you need to get it repaired or replaced by microsoft later on. (which is always a possibility). Outside the warranty period I personally think that it's really up to how you're modding it. If youre modding it to play copied or non-original discs then im a little 'eh' about it. I personally dont like people using pirated discs. the more people that do it... the bigger of an effect it will have on the gaming industry, youre taking away profits that the companys need to make more games (and make good ones)... especially in this economy. but if youre modding it to install a different os, use it as a media center or something, then more power to ya. but, it's your machine bud, do what you want. That's just my personal opinion. |

depends on the mod that is being done...if its just something like changing the case and adding lights and an artistic touch then i think thats perfectly fine (although i wouldnt think about it until after warranty expires) however if its to play pirated copies then i am very much against it |

i need moddoing so i can play import games, its way cheaper too import games here in scandinavia, so thats why i flash my drives... im a serius collector so it has nothing to do with copying games, but getting too play the non EUro releases |

I think if you are modding a system to be able to play imports then that is totally fine. It is when you start ripping games off that it becomes a problem because then the video game makers lose sales and with enough lost or lack or sales even big company's like Capcom could turn into a "Clover Studios story" and that would be a SAD SAD day in the video game world. Just imagine........... no new Street Fighter or New Mega Man games. |

there was this guy that i my dad got my xbox 360 from for chirstmas and a laptop from the same person for my birthday and then 2 months later the same person goes to jail for hacking a modding his xbox like superly modded.... just if u mod dont get caught lol and im serious |

For playing imports, i'd say thats fine. Companies are just screwing over consumers with the region lock out. So many great games never experienced by us in the west just cause it was never released on pal or US. Still waiting to play policenauts...:( |

I totally agree, but at least the PS3 is a step in the right direction since it can play all regions. I mean whats the big deal as long as your buying the game! And why cant we get Policenauts here? I mean we cant be the only 2 people in the world that would love to play this game. |
