I wouldn't think it would be ok for 2 reasons. 1. You're stealing a game and that a lot of people would rather have a legal copy of the game (if it is an import, then I would be ok with modding a 360) 2. I heard that you can get banned from xbox live which means no online multiplayer. |

1) Black 120 GB Elite model that's dead due to RROD 2) A Jasper Arcade to replace my dead Elite. |

The whole concept of modding has never appealed to me. I understand why people do it and I get how tempting piracy would be versus paying money for the physical product, however I have never gotten one of my systems modded. Taking into consideration the 360's track record of breaking down and the dreaded RROD, I would not mod the system while the warranty is still valid - it would totally screw me over. After warranty, I probably still wouldn't do it. I have more games than I can play at the moment, therefore modding it in order to get more games would not make sense. |

Well the Elite and Premium aren't the same price, not sure what the current prices are. The only difference I see in the elite is it's black with a 120GB HDD which I doubt you'd actually use. Right now, I would go with an Arcade and buy whatever size HDD you want separately, it'll save you some money plus you'll get the new model of the 360, apparently "RROD proof" which personally I think is bullshit but hey, better than the ones before I suppose. |

Agree 100%. having a RROD 360 myself and seeing everyone I know have there's do the RROD as well, the only model to buy is a Arcade with the Jasper chipset and hope M$ fixed the problem. |

I'm gonna end up getting a 360 eventually and I don't know which one to get. I'm not gonna go on xbox live at all, I just wanna play retail xbox 360 games. Is the memory card included in the arcade bundle enough to save 10 or so games? |

I think it's a 256mb card included in the arcade pack. That should be more than enough for game saves. If you're not going to connect it to live that would be fine. However, it's always handy to have a hard drive for installing games and expansions. |

I can live without installs and I won't be downloading expansions... but how much does a 20 gb hard drive cost? |

Is the system standing or not setting level? If it is even somewhat not level it can scratch games and I wouldn't recommend standing the 360 up myself.

I hope you don't actually mean that you will stand it up, that usually attributes to scratching on the disk. Have it laying down, on a flat secure surface and that should minimize it. |

I have the Red Elite model with the Jasper chip, and it has been working fine for the past few months. Knock on wood, it will continue to do so. so my recommendation is to seek out a Jasper model, which is only in the newer Elite models. No model is completely RROD-proof, but the likelihood of getting it is smaller on a Jasper. |

I've dealt with that a little bit in the past. If there are A LOT of things on the screen happening at once the frame rate drops because the system can't handle it which can be for many reasons. I know what you mean unfortunately i'm not sure of many ways of stopping it. |

If you have the money to buy the limited or whatever I guess i would recommend those...but honestly, I have the premium and never had the ROD. I play a LOT and never had any real problems, i pray i don't jinx myself, and it's held up for a while now. Of course that could be different depending where you go and if your lucky I guess, but it's totally up to you. If your on a budget i suggest getting arcade then buying a hard drive. Save you a bit. With live it doesn't matter what system you have anymore. |

It's probably just because you're doing so much at one time that the game can't handle it. I had some lag issues with burnout paradise when I was going really fast on ps3. It shouldn't be anything to worry about. |
