So... I go to a flea market after about a year of not going, I brought some games to try and sell or trade with a vendor (Final Fantasy 7, Dot Hack Mutation and Siren) I see a vendor with tons of games, I look around and he has almost every PS1 game available, I felt like I was dreaming, I saw games like Valkyrie Profile, Klonoa... ect... They also had a bunch of boxed SNES games at which point I blacked out haha. So I asked him "how much for Castlevania 4" he says 149... I thought to myself this guy must have smoked some strong weed before he got here. I asked about Kirby's Dream Land 3... he says "same price" at this point I was 100% sure he was high. I check out Soul Calibur for the Dreamcast... 96 dollars, This guy is out of his mind. So I thought "maybe he will give me decent money for mine then" I ask him if he buys, he says what do you have. I whip out my games and smack on the table. He looks at them and says "how much you want" as he looks at the discs, He hits dot Hack and says "The disc is very bad shape" I'm like "uh no its not, even if it has scratches you can resurface them for a couple dollars" hes like "I don't waste my time with that" then starts telling me how this game isn't a good game and in bad shape, I knew what he was trying to do I'm not stupid. Then I ask him how much he will give, he said how much do i want, I say how much you wanna give and he says "a dollar" with a bad attitude, I look at him and I'm like "why not take it for free then" he says "you paid 19 dollars for Final Fantasy" I'm like "no I didn't" hes like "yes you did" I'm like "no I didn't" then he is like "how much did you buy it for?" I said "3.99" hes like "where did you buy it?" I'm like "wouldn't you love to know?" he looks at me and says "its greatest hits" I'm like "so what? you're selling a bunch of greatest hits games" and he says "how much you want for it?" I'm like "Ill throw it on ebay" and then he starts telling me how ebay games are expensive and not worth buying from and I said "are you high?" it slipped out, it was an accident I'm usually pretty shy around people... not super shy but I don't say bad things but he got on my nerves with his crazy bad attitude. Then a couple people asked him about Pokemon Blue/Red/Silver/Gold and he said "45 dollars each" and the people walked away just as fast as he said it. I could deal with the fact his prices are high, so what, I just wont buy it. But his arrogant attitude was mind boggling. how are flea markets in your area? good? bad? ok? please tell me not all flea markets are as horrible as this one. You probably ran into what I call a vulture. They generally hang around stores like ebgames gamestop, thrift stores, even other flea markets and game stores. They buy the games at cheap prices then try and resell them for more. Also FF7 on ebay can be $100 or more. He has the right to do this but it still sucks. But yes his prices were nuts. Just walk away and keep shopping for cheaper prices. |

The big thing on ebay is to put *RARE!* on every game desription. This one world alone can push the price up $5-$10. |

I haven't been to a flea market in so long. The last time I been to one was when I still liked Yu-Gi-Oh! and collected cards in like 6th grade. I only went to buy cards lol. |

Um haven't had nothing near,that, mostly good deals, execpt this one guy was over pricing a lot (but not near that much) and wouldn't go down at all. But i did get sm rpg for 10$ in box at the same place there was a loose copy of mario paint for 15$ , wtf?, Hartville flea market. I love flea markets tho. Edited by Nathan, Aug 24 2009, 10:54 PM.

that guy was just an idiot, i love going to my local flea market. there's one guy there who always gives me great deals, everybody else overprices stuff though so i usually just look at his stuff and leave. it's hard to find good deals at flea markets/ yard sales anymore but you never know when you'll find a great deal so i still enjoy looking.

Yeah I never go to garage sales anymore, all the ones around here are shit. Also, we don't have any flear market or thrift shops or anything of that sort around here, I can only get gaming stuff at Walmart, EB Games, or GameHaven because those are the only places thats ell gaming related things, I live in Ontario Canada by the way. |

at my area theres 1 "big" flea market every year and noone sells games =P well i bought the battle of middle earth on pc for like 2 bucks (it whas 6 bucks but noone bought it and in the end i got it for 2 =P). still nothing great... sometimes i just hate flea markets.. =( |

The flea market near me sucks now,everyone is just way to overpriced there.But I still go once a year cause you never know.The last time I went the only good deal I found was a box with a Game Gear and eight games for 15 dollars and the guy threw in a baseball Tengen NES game and a mint copy of Resident Evil:CV for $5 more.But other then that everyone just wanted a small fortune. I go to yard/garage sales every weekend and I find a good deal every time I go.Once in a while I'll run across someone that thinks they can sell something for the same price they paid for but I just laugh at them a move on to the next one. |

We do not have any flea martkets in my area. A few pawn shops though and they are way over priced. I've never gone to the thrift shops in my area because it seems like they mainly sell clothes |

The outdoor markets that used to be in Coney Island were awesome before the city kicked them out. Nowhere else could buy an NES with an active beehive in it with a no questions asked guarantee that it would work. Edited by SuperTrainStationH, Aug 31 2009, 09:24 PM.

Theres only one near me and that has a few game stands pretty good prices too, its a shame its only there every other saturday. |

Yeah, I've met asshats like this before. Some guy wanted to sell me Mario All-Stars for £40 (that's $80, I think...) and got quite lippy when I didn't buy it. Funny thing was, I got it in my local retro game shop for £7, big difference

That sucks... and those prices are astronomically high... There are a couple good flea markets near my area. One of them has a guy with a huge game kiosk. He has hundreds of great games. Other than that, I don't care too much for flea markets. |
