I'm not sure if this is the proper section in the forums, but whatever. If Pete or a mod feels this should go in the general gaming section then be my guest. Here I go: Last friday, I tried to sign in to my Playstation network account and it wouldn't let me. So me and my father called sony and, after 2 15 minute waits and an advertizement for gran turismo psp(complete with instructions on downloading it) they told us I was banned. Make note that all I do with playstation network is purchase and download tv shows, games, demos, trailers, themes, etc. NEVER played online. So it would be pretty hard for me to break the rules, eh? So they they told us they couldn't find out why we were banned so they said they'd call us either mon. or tues. So finally today we got a call saying that there was some confusion and that I have my account back. So It's fine now. Anybody have to go through this with them? Or anybody else; twitter, myspace, club nintendo, xbox live, ign, whatever. If I would have learned that I got banned for something I didn't do, they would've lost a customer. I was wondering what was going on after reading your stuffs on Twitter. Man, that blows. That's still almost 5 days not knowing why you were banned; not exactly a speedy response time, eh? I know it was the weekend, but I would have expected a call yesterday. Oh well, at least you got it cleared up. |

Ugh, yeah, I had a fun weekend. I struggled through the week for a nice 3 day weekend and I got this waiting for me after dinner. I just don't understand why they'd ban somebody without an e-mail explaining what's up. When I tried to sign in, it didn't even say I was banned, just that I was unable to use playstation network. UNless they didn't even know they banned me, which is ridiculous. The worst part about this is that I had no ambition to even look my psp. Had to whip it out at one point because why mom needed to play luxor on it.  They really did anger me; I was seriously considering abandoning sony and buying a 360 or wii. But it's over.

Back when I used to do GameFAQs. I almost got banned for trolling because in the metal boards, I asked if anyone liked the band SIXX AM (Nikki Sixx from Motley Crue's side project) Apparently that was me trolling. Yeah, asking if anyone likes a metal band on a metal forum was apparently so wrong that I almost got my account deleted. I quit going on GameFAQ's, mainly because everyone on there is a jerk. |

Yes, I was wondering what was up when i saw your Twitter posts as well. I don't believe I ever actually had anything like that happen to me but man that's gotta suck. Also, up until now I had no idea that you didn't have a 360 or Wii. That is odd because I don't have a PS3 or 360, xD |

Luckily I haven't come across a problem with Sony, so I'm keeping my fingers crossed, I hate making calls to any company about their product because it usually involves a lot of pre recorded "If you have a problem with such and such press 5" "if you still have a problem with such and such press 6" "If you are so frustrated right now that we take forever to get you to an actual personnel press 7" *Puts phone in toaster* I only called Microsoft once, and that was because I bought my friend a points card here in Canada, and I sent him the code and it was invalid. APPARENTLY, MS doesn't want us Canadians being nice to our state friends and wanting to share points cards because they are invalid over there. Yet gold cards work fine for sharing. FIGURE THAT ONE OUT. I really wish MS would incorporate a feature where you can share games or points, after all I am still paying for it, sheesh, way to take my joy away! Anyway I'm glad you stuck with it, I've heard that Sony has a tendency to keep you on hold for awhile, but I usually here that they fix you up pretty quickly, so keep the faith! Though really..of all things banned, that would have made me pretty pissed too. Next time tell Sony you kicked a small child, now THAT's a reason for banning. |

Pokemonzrpg- I used to own a wii, but I regretably sold it. I really want a new one. It was a stupid choice, but I've matured a good bit since I did that. And with the 360, I've never owned one because I HATE going through a refurbishing procces(Happened with nintendo a few times. They were very helpful. but I still didn't enjoy myself), and with the whole RROD affair going on, I'd have to go through it at least once eventually. The problem is lessening, so I'll probably get one soon. What made you think I owned a 360 and a wii? I've never talked about owning one on here. Porcelain- I almost gave up with them. Let me tell you all about a little site known as GamePro.com. My membership there was rocky and I was banned many times, and put on BOS there. BOS stands for Ban On Sight. That means when the mods check my IP address they can ban me if its my IP. GP is full of sony fanboys. They have the worst sony fanboys in video game history there on that one site. The theory floating around is that GP is made up of the banned sony fanboys and trolls from other sites. Now I dont mean to offend anyone here that likes sony or considers themselves sony fanboys. These people are horrible corporation woshipping morons. Theres no excuse. If you made one negative topic about sony or the ps3, and it didnt even have to real negative, they would harass you and push you till you had to get ugly. Thats what I did. I got very ugly. I started out on GP wanting to be a good member. I wanted to be pat of the respected ranks. But its not how it went. I posted and commented on news stories whenever I got the chance. Alot of people agreed with me and my opinions. I had opinions on everything, not just sony and the ps3. But is my opinions on sony and the ps3 that landed me in trouble with GPs sony fanboy majority. I started hating the place after my first banning and it only got worse. With my last 3 accounts there I started spamming the place up. Doing and syaing very horrible things. I cant and wont respect GP now or ever. Most of the non fanboys have left. Im gone. The people I used to know dont post anymore. GPs overall atmosphere is dead. The site isnt anymore active then this place is. 95% its not even about games. GP site and magazine is a joke. especially the site. People only sign up now to win free stuff and then go back to gamespot or IGN. If you all ever visit GP, watch yourselves because you will get banned. From what I have seen of you all you wouldnt last on that site maybe a week. The sony fanboys run many accounts on that site and they all whine to the mods when they dont like what you say. It's happening again! We called them up, and they said it was a recurring and common problem, and that they need to get it all sorted out. The guy said to expect a call tommorrow. He asked for a personnal security question(something that a security fraud guy wouldn't be able to guess. I'm sure you've done this before somewhere else; like your mom's maiden name, or your favorite toy as a child), so I'm guessing they think someone stole our password or something. I'll keep you updated, guys. |

Alright, they called me back. I'm allowed back on, but they said don't be surprised if it happens again. They said they're still investigating it, and they'll get back to me. I asked if it was a common problem right now, and he said not really. That's not what I herad! I don't really blame him for saying that, he can't really say that his company is randomly banning users.I also said I thought it was some type of hackerr. He said it wasn't anything like that, and I guess I should believe him on that one. Hey, I needed to say something while media go was loading up on my prehistoric computer! So yeah, I'm thinking they'll call again next week. I'll, once again, keep you guys updated. |

I just signed in and out a few times, downloaded a demo, and signed in and out some more and it all went fine. I guess I'm okay. The download was pretty slow though... I honor of this, I'm gonna buy something for it today instead of saving up for Mario and luigi 3(thinking lumines 2 or god of war CoO). More good news: Powerstone collection is available for dowload! $19.99(overpriced, it's 13 used at gamestop!) and only 305(it's between 300 and 310 for sure) mb. |

Still doing fine, but powerstine collection is still $20. And Ubisoft, could you please release lumines as a downloadable game? It's the perfect size game(I think at least) for a download; it can't be more thatn 300mb, possible around just 100mb. And it would be a shame if psp go users wouldn't be able to play this gem of a game. |

Again? Oh boy, I wonder what on earth would cause just random banning, there has to be some sort of server malfunction, or perhaps a user with a very similar name as yours could be causing trouble. I'm glad Sony is at least calling you back and fixing the problem as soon as they can, hope this is the last and final time for you, what are the chances! |

More Crap! Different problem this time: I just bought an episode of the cleveland show and when I went to download it to my psp(through the PC store) I got the message "Communication with the server failed." Games I've purchased and demos download fine, just the TV show. Guess I'm gonna have to call 'em up!  Can anyone think of a possible solution? I've heard that I should deactivate and reactivate it, but I want to avoid that at all costs. Edited by matt456p, Oct 15 2009, 03:50 PM.

Copy and Pasting from another forum: I got an xbox 360 when the arcade came out. On the first copy my friends all bragged about not getting it so I played it recklessly. RROD in a week. This time I played it on more moderately one hour a day. RROD in one month. Got it back i did everything, lay it on its side put a towel on it put it on its side. This lasted like 4 months until It got an Error 74. Sent it in and got it back. It worked for a week before it RROD'd. At this point they wanted to charge me 100$ for a new one to which I declined until recently when I called and they said they'd do it for free. I sent it in March and still havn't recieved it back yet. UPDATE: They sent me a brand new xbox 360 elite in July with random benefits (All halo 3 maps besides the ones in ODST. Some rockband songs I'm still discovering what else) So yeah I've had a bad experience with microsoft. |

Called them up and it's all fixed. The representative just walked me through deactivating and activating my psp. I also learned(I asked) that you can have 5 psp systems on your account at one time. I thought that that meant that after 5 system activations, you had to start a new account. Now theres no dount that I'm getting a psp go. Plus, I recently figured out how to backup all my digital stuffs(I love putting an "s" at the end of "stuff"), so copying, let's say, a tv show, to the psp go would only take like 30 seconds, when it takes about 5-10 minutes to download. And my computer has been running(oddly) pretty fast recently...whatever.... |
