Hey guys, I want a fighter for the psp and I can't decide between these two. I loved the dissidia demo, but I also loved soul caliber 4(thought it had flawless controls). HELP! Whoops, ignore the 2nd choice(the blank one); Edited by matt456p, Sep 11 2009, 11:29 PM.

I'm a fan of both, more so Final Fantasy of course, but even as big of an FF fan that I am I'm finding it a bit hard to really grip into Dissidia. It just lacks story for me, it's not really flowing, it's nice to get to pick which story you go into by selecting the character, but than again that also allows the story to not really flow. The camera gets pretty wonky, and the control scheme is..buggy to say the least, once you get into it though you train yourself with the controls you are given and it's not THAT BAD. It's great to play as all your favourites from FF, but the learning curve is oddly difficult even for veterans. Dissidia is a good choice if you want more than a fighter, there are weapon sort of mixing mode, collections, outfits, things of that nature. (Did I mention the camera is controlled with the D-PAD and not the SHOULDER buttons like it should have been? Yeah, poor choice.) Though if you are purely looking for a fighter with solid controls than Soul Calibur is a great choice, already has all your favourite characters, it runs smoothly, and it's such a great little fighter on the go, you are not finicking around with the camera, or bumping into walls and god knows what else. It gives you just what you would expect from a fighter. I'm a little critical on FF Dissidia because being a fan of the series and holding it to such high regards it didn't really live up to what I was expecting. It's not a bad game by any means, but again it can be tricky and difficult, it took me a good hour or so to feel out the controls and get comfortable. In the end..eventually I think you should purchase both! Though my vote firstly goes to Soul Calibur. I'm sorry Cloud, shh, it'll be ok. |

Thanks for the suggestions, I'll probably do that; buy Soul caliber now and get dissidia later. |

I voted for Soul Calibur, it may be a little biased though because I practicaly bought a PSP for that game, Soul Calibur is my favorite series =] Dissidia looks fun but it doesn't appeal to me, as much as I am into fighters, not my taste. |

Well, after watching alot of videos and reading some stuff, I think I want Dissidia. It does something different and I had alot of fun with the demo. Plus, Soul caliber BD is the type of game that will get a price drop very soon. |

Which ever you end up with you'll have a blast, and with Dissidia you definitely get a much longer bang for your buck, it's just a game you need to get use to and is different from the conventional Final Fantasy games, which is probably why I'm still deciding how I feel for it. Good point though SC is the type of game that would be getting a price drop rather soon! |

Got dissidia and I'm glad I did. Besides smash brothers, best fighting game I've ever played. You can read my more indepth impressions on the "games your currently playing" thread. I'll get broken destiny when it's 20, 30 if I can't wait for it. |
