I'm a paraplegic (spina bifida) and was wondering if the wii would work for me as far as mobility goes? I don't have a wii but it does look like a fun system that I would like to get in the future if possible. Would it be worth checking into or are there not enough games that would work for my situation? I can use my upper body fine just not my legs and feet. Any help would be great. |

The wii would be a great system, even with the more Nintendo released titles that require less "waggle" which is essentially less moving your wiimote around like a loon. The wii mainly focuses on upper body strength and stamina, the only game to my knowledge that would require lower body is wii fit, since some movements are registered on the wii fit board that you place your feet on. Any movements that require jumping or anything of that sort can still be mimicked by just using yours hands and doing the motion that you would associate with that particular movement! You would have no problem, I have a buddy with also the same condition and he loves playing on the system, he's heavily into that new Muramasa right now. Oh and Little King's Story! Hope this helped!

The only wii games that I can think of that require your legs would be games like wii sports 1 and 2, Deca sports, warioware, and the balance board games. As Porcelain said, the wii focuses on upperbody movements. So I'd say go for it. |
