Sony just announced at the Tokyo game show that there will be 700 games available for download when the psp go is released(this is US news, 400 for japan). That's pretty impressive, considering that the amount of psp game is, I believe, in the 700s(no more than 800) right now. They are really working on making the ps store good enough to go sans- umd. |

Wow, that's pretty impressive. They need to cover the more obscure titles as well as the big and popular ones or else a lot of PSP fans will be upset. |

Well, I'm guessing you can't even fit half of those on a PSP Go. And it's not as if they're free or something. |

Your looking at it the wrong way HBF. First of all, it's impressive because right now there is only like what, 100 downloadable games for the psp? And there promising 600 more than that. And saying that you won't be able to fit all that on a psp go is like saying that you can't carry that many UMDs for the standard psp. |

Once again, complaining that all these downloadable games aren't free is like complaing that UMDs aren't free. And as for the size of certain games, playstation netwok exclusive games(with the exception of patapon 2) are generally less than or around 100 mb, and games that are also on umd are generally 400-750 mbs. As for original playstation games, there ussually around 350 mb, with the exeption of those originally on multiple discs. |

But that still means that you can only have a limited set amount of games, no matter how small the size is or how many "promised" games they will make, that's still makes the PSP Go limited. There's just a lot of arguments with games being downloadable, its not a good thing. |

You don't have to have all of your games on your psp go. You buy games and it saves it to your account. You can redownload it as many times as you want. Just think of it like buying a retail game. You buy it, put it on your shelf, and take it out when you want to play it. With the psp go, you save it to your account, and put it on the psp go when you want to play it. |

That's pretty staggering. I don't even think there are 700 games released yet. If they can include a price drop at some point on the system, it may take off if they can include cheaper prices on digital downloads as well. The market isn't at the point right now where people would want to put a lot of money up front for a portable game system, even if the games are cheaper in the long run. Having a very large library will prove to be helpful though

Wow this thread really creeped back. I too have a hard time believing that the PSP Go has 700 titles ready for download on it, but there could be stats that prove otherwise. Everyone is sticking to the 3000 model for the time being because of their old games and the inability to get them uploaded to the PSP Go for free. Sony could have made this work really well had they given existing PSP users a chance to get their already purchased titles onto the Go. They missed the boat for sure. It's selling terribly in every market as far as I know. Have to wait and see what the PSP 2 will offer in the probable near future. |
