These aren't the droids we're looking for.

Super Smash Bros. Brawl is a brilliant game, especially if you have a few GameCube controllers, and you don't have to have any nostalgic feelings for any of the characters to have a great time with it. It does help if you're a fan of Nintendo in general, though.

Hopefully pokemonzrpg sees this topic, as I'm sure he could give more recommendations than me :P

As for wii suggestions, as Nostalgiaking said, SSBB is a must have for any gamer(unless your a pacifist). Mario Galaxy, Twilight Princess, Metroid Prime 3, Mad World, Muramassa, Mario Kart Wii, Super Paper Mario, Boom Blox 1 and 2, and Zack and Wiki are some other good ones.

lol Thanks, but that's not necesarilly true.

As for the recommendations, Super Smash Bros. Brawl as Nostalgia said because yeah, no nostalgia in it and it is a great play.

Animal Crossing: City Folk: An awesome play for casual gamers, but it is time-consuming so your cousin might want to watch out for that if he doesn't have much time on his hands.

Harvest Moon: Tree of Tranquility: This is really a love-it or hate-it game as is Animal Crossing. This version can get boring, but it just screams casual gamer.

The LEGO Games: I myself have LEGO Star Wars: The Complete Saga, LEGO Batman, and LEGO Indiana Jones, but they do have LEGO Rock Band out now as well. I prefer LEGO Star Wars myself because it has more depth to it and it is more innovative than the others. Your cousin may enjoy this a lot because I love it. It is not difficult at all, but it is quite casual. No nostalgia involved. LEGO Batman is also great as well and they are coming out with LEGO Harry Potter: Years 1-4 and LEGO Indiana Jones 2 as well.

Mario Kart Wii: One of the best on the system, definitely in my top 5. It works for casual and hardcore gamers alike and has TONS of replay value. The new wii wheel that you can use as the controller definitely keeps it from being nostalgic as well, although you have the choice of the gamecube and classic controller as well.

Mario Party 8: A great party game, but not the best in the series.

MySims Kingdom: Just awesome game, very casual and you don't even have to play the first MySims to get into this one because they have nothing to do with each other, I just happen to have played the first, but don't own.

Rayman Raving Rabbids 2: A good party game, but not much replay value since it is easy and quick to beat.

WarioWare Smooth Moves: A great party game, definitely recommend to Wario and casual gamers alike.

Wii Sports Resort: You might think this game will be horrible from the appearance of it's predecessor, but it is an amazing game and also one of the best on the system. I think it has 12 sports in all, some of the sports are a little cheap and seem like fillers, but games like bowling, golf, basketball, etc. are excellent and the new Wii Motion Plus really makes a difference.

I hope I was able to help!

Um... I don't think you saw that he said his cousin is a casual gamer so that immediately rules out Twilight Princess, Metrodi Prime 3, Mad World, and a little of Muramasa...

I love that sexy red case

As for Matt's first sentence; I don't particularly like the idea of everyone being confined to getting game suggestions from one thread. It's much easier to do what the thread starter did by going to the console's section; it's easier to track and it's pretty much guaranteed to get the attention of that console's enthusiasts.

The game recommendation thread is a good idea for casual recommendations, but, honestly, I haven't peaked inside that thread since the 5th post, I think. This is just easier.

Mario indeed has a powerful nostalgic influence but at the same time this game has everything that made Super Mario Bros. 3 one of the best NES titles in the first place. I highly recommend this game if your a Mario fan or not. The multiplayer is great and really adds to the game play. if you have 4 people in total playing it turns into a back stabbing free for all that's totally insane. Since I picked this title up I haven't stopped playing it, its just that good.

I agree, I think we should make a game reccommendations thread for every console, just pin a topic, would be better than one big topic in general gaming, I'd make them now but I have to go to bed :-/
