I wanna say the Wiimote for the motion controls, but is that cheap? I guess I'll say the Gamecube Controller for the excellent triggers, high quality sticks, and perfectly molded plastic for your hands. |

Top 5 1.) Original XBOX S-Controller (the smaller controller) 2.) 360 Controller 3.) PS1 Analog/PS2/PS3 (Practically no difference here) 4.) Genesis 3 button controller 5.) SNES Controller NES controller would have made the list if it hadn't always given me callouses that fell out of my d-pad thumb rendering my gaming non-existant for days at a time. |

I prefer the PS3 one (Dualshock 3 I think it's called). It's been my favorite basic design since the SNES days with the SNES controller (which was my favorite). Dualshock 3 feels like a natural evolution of that controller. |

Here are my favorites: 1) PS1/PS2/PS3 - They just feel perfect...and just 'right'. 2) Genesis 6 button - Excellent for old school 2d fighters and Platformers 3) Sega Saturn - Fighting and Shmup'in it up. 4) Sega Dreamcast - Fighting and Shmup'in it up...and the VMU is cool. 5) Xbox360 - Very sleek and ergonomically comfortable. |

I will have to go with the SNES controller as being my favorite of all time. When I upgraded to a SNES from my old NES, I loved the feel of the controller and the extra buttons (especially the "L" and "R" shoulder buttons) really added depth to the controls. I remember playing Castlevania IV and I loved how you could launch your weapon by pressing "R" as opposed to having to hold "Up" and "B" (I think that's how it worked) on the NES. The second choice would be the Playstation Dual Shock that was introduced in the PS1 and is still used for the PS3. Despite the addition of motion control, the design has not changed much and for good reason. If it isn't broken, don't fix it. I know a few people who love the original Xbox controller and I never understood who, but each to their own. The thing is the size of a Whopper and it's too bulky to really feel comfortable. They did the right thing by redesigning it. |

nope lol I liked it too, but in my case I liked the 2nd generation "super Pad" one a lot. It was one of the comfiest controllers ever made. (even though it looks kinda wired) and I still haven't found one again in years.

I would have to say the Gamecube controller is my favorite. 2nd only to the N64 controller I loved the fact that there were two ways to hold the N64 controller, depending on if you used the D pad or the joystick

For some reason, I really liked the original Xbox controller, the Duke. I prefer larger and heavier controllers, so yeah. |

Hmmm, if it wasn't for the horrible D-Pads that Microsoft makes, I would have have said the 360 controller, even though I don't own a 360. But, the D-pad sucks so bad so that is out the window. I find all Sony controller buttons to really suck soon after getting them, though the analogue sticks are fantastic. So, we are down to Nintendo and SEGA. I would probably have to go with the Gamecube controller. There are a lot of things I like about the SNES one but the fact that it isn't very ergonomic throws me off a bit. The Genesis controller is a very close second though, so long as you don't have to play anything that needs many buttons like Mortal Kombat. EDIT: To be honest though, the Virtual Boy one is one of my favourite controllers for sure. Very comfortable, long handles. Wonderful d-pads. Really neat L and R. I could see it lasting for hours and hours, something the visuals probably can't pull off for most people. Edited by SilverMongoose, Mar 19 2010, 05:56 AM.
