Personally I'm glad to see the Sonic franchise return to its roots of awesome side scrolling goodness. Perhaps I'm biased because I haven't played any of the newer Sonic titles since Sonic Adventure 2 because the game play just rubs me the wrong way. What are your thoughts on this new development? |

Glad to see a 2d sequel finally. Its a real shame that they just skipped doing one on the saturn, no wonder it didn't do so well. It would have been the perfect console for it. Not seen any real footage of sonic 4 apart from that tiny clip on the 2nd trailer. Not much to go on really. If it's anything like sonic 3 and S&K then i think we're in for an amazing game. |

I am glad they are finally making a 2D sonic again after the fans have begged for this for years but I don't like how its going to be a downloadable game and I don't like the fact that its broken up into episodes. I would much rather them finish the entire game and then release a full retail game. I will end up getting it anyways but they could of done a better job of the first 2D Sonic since the 16 bit days. |

I think they should have shown Sonic going full speed, because it looks kind of awkward for him to go so fast, while still being able to see his legs.... |

I personally cant wait, but like majinpowers said I too don't like the downloadable only fact and also the way it is split into episodes. I'd rather it just be one game. |

A disc copy will likely come out once all the episodes are released to maximize sales since sega KNOWS people will rebuy it again to have it all in one place and in physical form. I am super excited for this, but cannot help but be a bit skeptical considering sonics past these last couple of years. Call me crazy but this will be one of those games I camp the dashboard for until 5am to download it first thing. |

Dont worry Pete, you won't be the only one camping on the dashboard  If a disc copy is likely I may still just download the episodes and the buy the disc at a later date :/ |

I really hope for a retail copy for this. That would be nice. I hope this is the Sonic game that Sega and Sonic fans have been waiting for, but I can't help but think Sega is going to screw this one up like they have since SA2. |

I'm optimistic that this will be as good and have similiar success to the 8-bit Mega Man 9 & 10 sequels. I just wish they were not releasing it in episodes. I will wait in the hopes that later on we will be able to get a full verison of the complete game not broken up. |

I think that's the worst "catch" to having another 2D Sonic game. The whole episodic game idea has been run into the ground by previous series such as the Penny Arcade RPG and Half-Life 2 (When will we see Episode 3!). There's another thing. What if it takes a long time in between each episode? We've waited 16 years for a 4th game and I don't want to wait much longer for each episode. At most, I could deal with 6 month intervals in between. Any longer would be ridiculous. |

Microsoft has revealed a 13th October release date for Sonic the Hedgehog 4: Episode 1 on Xbox Live Arcade. Confirmation came from the company's UK PR Dominic Carey. "ZOMG! Sonic 4: Episode 1 dates for October 13th on Xbox LIVE. Bring it on Robotnik (*sigh* Eggman)," he tweeted. SEGA has yet to respond. |

All of the release dates and prices have now been revealed. I'm surprised to see a 15 dollar price tag on the game. Especially if it's coming in 3-4 episodes. That's pretty expensive. borrowed this from IGN: "The game will be available for download on the iTunes App Store starting Oct. 7, the Wii Shop Channel on Oct. 11 (15th Oct in EMEA territories), the PlayStation Network on Oct. 12 in America (Oct 13th in EMEA territories), and Xbox Live Arcade on Oct. 13 across all territories. Sonic 4 will be priced at 1500 Wii Points on WiiWare, 1200 Microsoft Points on Xbox Live Arcade, and $14.99 / £9.99 / €12.99 / AU$19.95 on the PlayStation Network. " |

I hate the fact they make it only downloadable, i'd love a package. Nintendo did it for New Super Mario Bros. Wii, so i don't see why dont make it for Sonic the Hedgehog 4, at least for us fans. |
