What did you guys think of Avatar? I though it was a great movie with great 3D. Avatar's story was basically a Pochahantus (Natives own land, outside force wants the land for the goods on land) story with some clever twists and turns I won't spoil. The movie does a great job of making you love the people fighting for the land, and hating those who want to claim it, by emphasizing the religious impact it had on the Natives and show the pain it put them through. It is a formiliar story thouhg; you can't get past that. The acting overall was pretty good, but has some issues. The human characters fighting to help the Native were all acted great, but there were some issues with the "bad guys." There is two main villains. There is one character that is sort of supportive of the protagaonist (he's his like commander) but slowly turns greedier and eviler as the movie prograsses. I felt that his change from likeable character to unlikeable wasn't strong enough however; I didn't hate him enough by the end of the movie. There was another bad guy that was pretty ridiculous with trying to invade the land; maybe overly so, but I thought he did fine and was kinda the comedic relief. My biggest complaint with the movie was the pacing; at times, I thought a scene could drag on (the final battles is EXTREMELY long, for example), but it overall wasn't that bad. The movie was pretty powerful and thought provoking, and I really did love it. I may seem negative, but I simply don't want to ruin the great parts. I'd give it maybe a 9.3/10 and I'd highly reccomend it. You don't need to see it in 3D, but you definatly should. What did you guys think? |

If I didn't see it in 3D, I wouldn't of rated it as such a great film. It's going to win plenty of awards including best picture of course, but In my opinion other films deserve recognition. Avatar 2 is likely to be in production soon (hopefully a better storyline with the same great visuals), I wonder what it will be about? |

I hated it, it was cool to look at and it looks fantastic. I understand that every movie has some sort of cliche in a scene but Avatar took those use of predictable cliches to a new level. Almost every scene was predictable. |
