So I picked up this graphics tablet a couple days ago,![]() And I must say that I'm quite impressed! I haven't used one of these tablets since the serial port days, and they have come a long way. I got the Wacom Bamboo Pen Small for about $70 at Staples. Wacom is the best brand in these devices, and they have many models. This is the cheapest along with the Bamboo Touch Small, which is like the trackpad on a laptop only larger, and offers multitouch similar to the iphone. There is also a model for around $100 that allows Pen as well as touch input, and they also come in medium and large sizes. Wacom also offers some more professional lines of graphics tablets like the Intuos4 line, and the ones with built in displays like a monitor, the Cintiq line. The small ones, however are nice for drawing and photo editing on the computer because they don't require you to move your hand all over the place to do the work. The larger ones are more reserved for CAD programs and drafting types of use. The bamboo pen has 512 levels of pressure sensitivity and some of the other models offer 1024 levels and some even higher. This is great because in most art and photo programs, the sensitivity is recognized and makes the lines you draw vary from thin and light to heavy and dark depending upon the settings you use. This particular one also came with a great art program, Corel Painter 4, for drawing and painting on the computer. Anyway, the reason I posted this is because I though some of you may be interested in something like this, and it's a great entry level tablet for someone on a budget, but whom still wants the quality of the best name in the business. Just thought I'd share my thoughts, and show my new pickup! Keep Gaming and Peace! --eSkilliam Edited by eSkilliam, Feb 28 2010, 02:53 AM.

I picked up one of them around Christmas from Staples as well. So far I have been happy with it. I did have to search the net to find a duel monitor fix for it. For the price it is well worth picking up and trying out if you like Drawing or using Photoshop.

Bamboo tablets are awesome- I had a housemate pick one up, and it was better than I was expecting. I have an intuos3 myself, although I want to upgrade with either an intuos4 or *sigh* a cintiq sometime. |

I'd actually like to know what made you decide on getting one? Do you do a lot of drawing, or photoshop work? If so I'm really interested in seeing some of your work, maybe you can do a review of this product, or what you do with it in some of your videos!
