These aren't the droids we're looking for.

(Moved to the 360 section.)

If you haven't played it, and if you can find it, I'd suggest Mass Effect. I know some people didn't enjoy it, but I loved it and played the hell out of it.

Blue Dragon is only 15 bucks for the 360.

The aforementioned Blue Dragon and Mass Effect are good games to go with. Two other inexpensive RPGs to check out are Eternal Sonata and The Last Remnant, both of which I rather enjoyed.

Ok, I just got back from GS and got Metal of honor: Airborn and EndWar... Not an rpg but it is VERY fun.

The xbox 360 does in fact have some solid traditional rpgs (unlike its little brother) with:
Blue Dragon
Enchanted Arms - [both of which are extremely cheap, see here
http://petesgameroomforum.com/topic/3053491/1/#new]
Tales of Vesperia
Eternal Sonata
Final Fantasy XIII
Lost Odyssey and a few others.
There's also an impressive western rpg selection in
Mass Effect 1 and 2,
Dragon Age
Fallout 3
Fable 2.

hope that helped- i'd recommend any and every game on this list, but preference is a huge factor... i'd like to think near anyone can sink their teeth into Mass Effect 2 but games like Lost Odyssey are for a special breed of rpg traditionalists :P
