Considering that Nintendo was pushing their "seal of quality" back in the 80's, they can be blamed for allowing certain products to be made for their system. But let's face it, the Power Glove is only terrible in hindsight. I thought it was the coolest thing when I was a kid, even though it only worked properly a fraction of the time and having to punch in codes was a pain. Still, you forgive technical imperfections when you're a kid.

I do think that motion control was considered the wave of the future back when Nintendo marketed it as a new thing for the Wii, but many gamers still prefer the standard controller. Hell, I rarely play Wii games that make heavy use of the motion control except for the House of the Dead games. I still prefer my stationary controllers with trigger buttons. I don't think that the Playstation Move will be as profitable for Sony since it's not really a new idea anymore, but it will be interesting to see how Sony and Microsoft compete in this arena.

Speaking of which... where's all of our light gunz for the PS3 and 360??? I'm rather upset that they forgot about those this generation and the games to go with them! (I realize light guns themselves won't work with new tv's, but there are other technologies available)
That's where the PSthrii-mote comes in.
I'm sure 99.9% of games that integrate this will be shooter-based

Sony has announced that PlayStation Move will go on sale in Europe on 15th September.

As announced at E3, the PS3 motion controller will be sold in a bundle that includes one Move, one PlayStation Eye and a starter disc - and that bundle will cost €59.99.

Move will also be sold separately for €39.99, while the Navigation Controller (originally called the Sub-Controller) will cost €29.99.

The PlayStation Eye itself will cost €29.99.

PlayStation Move will be flanked at launch by 16 titles, with 40 more due to hit in the Christmas period.

First-party Move titles include Sorcery, SingStar Dance, Heroes on the Move (working title), SOCOM 4, Heavy Rain Move Edition, echochrome ii, EyePet, Sports Champions, Tumble and Beat, while third parties are offering up Resident Evil: Gold Edition, Time Crisis: Razing Storm, Toy Story 3 and Tiger Woods PGA Tour 11.

There will also be two other accessories at launch - the shooting attachment and charging station. The former allows you to hold Move horizontally like a gun and will cost €14.99, while the latter is what it sounds like and costs €29.99.

Sony made the announcement at its E3 press conference in Los Angeles today.

The sole purpose of the PS3 eye is to track a ball of light on the end of the move controller.

What are you struggling with?

well I figured, since it's sold separately, that it would be the same as that PS2 eye thing.

Not only are they different, but the PS3 eye toy can replace your microphone in online games. It works well from anywhere in the room.

In Canada, Futureshop is advertising a Playstation Move bundle for $99.99 and it includes the Move controller, the Eye and a pack-in game. $100 is still pricey, but it's certainly more competitive than Kinect.

Time Crisis...I'm sold. Sorcery looks pretty neat, but I hope that game combining Sly, Ratchet, and Jak turns out okay. The video for that didn't look so great, but I love those characters.

I think I'm going to try picking up a move controller at launch. By the looks of it, to get the full experience for all games you're gonna need to buy a couple of the glowing ball controllers and a analog stick controller.

When you see the amount of cash you'll be spending of all three controllers, they get very close to the price of the xbox kinect camera.

You can get the bundle with a game, the Wand and the...for lack of a better name at this time, Nunchuk, for $100 bucks. Good deal if you ask me. I really want the archery game, and Sorcery. Sorcery will have me addicted, I can already tell.

"Sony has pointed out that PlayStation Move controllers will be cheaper to buy in the UK than we had expected.

One PlayStation Move controller costs £34.99, one PlayStation Eye camera costs £24.99 and one PlayStation sub-controller costs £24.99.

Note that you do not need the sub-controller to play most Move games, and the DualShock 3 pad can substitute for it.

The Move controller and Eye will be bundled in a PlayStation Move Pack for £49.99. This also contains a Starter Disc, which offers an instructional set-up video plus playable demos for Sports Champions, Start the Party!, The Shoot, EyePet: Move Edition, TV Superstars, Tiger Woods PGA Tour 11, echochrome II, Tumble and Beat Sketchers."

I've just put in my pre-order for a couple of motion controllers and a copy of sports champions with the site called ShopTo.net.

Only 11 more days until the UK release (15th September), I'm excited to try it out, and see how well it works for myself.

don't really care for the move, Time Crisis sounds cool but that would be a lot of money to pay for just one game. Sports Champion, meh...

Gonna be passing on it for now: Tech's cool but NO launch games interest me whatsoever. I may get it around christmas, because I'd like to play Killzone 3 with this.

Quick Question: How does mounting the Camera work? Are you supposed to put it above or below your TV? And is there little sticky thingies on the bottom like on the Wii's Sensor bar so it doesn't fall?

I've got my PS3 camera located underneath my TV as i don't have enough space on the top. It works just fine down there.

A little nugget of info that i read about this morning that I wanted to share: If you are planning on picking up the PS Move at launch in the UK and already have a camera there'll be no need to pick up the starter pack to get the bundled demos, as they will be made available on the PSN to download.

The difference between the US and the UK PS Move bundles is that the US pack comes with Sports Champions included and the UK version does not.

PlayStation Move VS Light.

It's interesting to see just how well the PS Move cope with extreme lighting conditions.
