If you could only own one console for the rest of your life, what would it be?

Mine would absolutly be the Wii. Uber addicting games like Brawl, Excitebots, and the Guitar Heros, along with a wide range of games on tons of systems on the virtual console? Obvious!

I'd choose the Xbox 360 and for the games I would make sure I had the Namco Virtual Arcade and Sonic's Ultimate Genesis Collection.

does a PC count as a system? If it does i'd go with the PC...

Otherwise it would be the 360 cos of the huge game library, or the wii cos of the addicting games.

PS3 (if it had backwards compatability).

Huuuuge library, plus Yakuza 3. <3

As KB18fan said I would go with the launch 60GB PS3 since it is essentially a PS1, PS2 and PS3 all in one....although that particular model does have higher failure rates than the other models

I Like Games.

The safe answer is the 360 because theres a lot of games for it and Xbox live would keep me busy.

The more realistic one would actually be a PC. Why? For one I am very new to PC gaming so there is a large library of games for me to play. A lot of PC games are MMORPG's and online games that are highly addictive. All I gotta do is just keep playing MMO's and I will be set for life.

As much as I love the snes, I might just have to go with the Xbox, since the XBLA does have a lot of titles that I would love to play and get into, and some great classics as well.

Lets just hope a time never comes where I just have to choose one, I like having what I do right now. :P

I have to go with the Wii as well mostly because of the virtual console. Most of my childhood favorites from the NES, SNES, and N64, plus the ability to play GC and Wii games...yessss.

probably the launch 60GB ps3 as it plays ps2 games unlike the new ones but for last gen if i had a choice it'd be the original xbox because u can put ur own music into some of the games.........and if i had to go retro i'd either go with the snes or the playstation(PSone)

I would probably go with the Wii because it has backwards compatibility with the GameCube and it has all the Virtual Console games as well. I have a lot of games on the Wii and GC.

Yet again, I use the 360 a lot to communicate with my friends so that would be hard.

Dang this is a tough question...Part of me wants to say NES because that is what I grew up playing as a kid. But I would probably have to pick the Sega Saturn or Dreamcast because Shmups are my favorite genre and the Saturn and Dreamcast rule this territory.

MaximumRD did a video to this a while back and I posted a response, if anyone cares to see it (Though he said no current gen consoles). http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_wfravdtUv0
If not, the jist of it is below (though I really recommend watching the video as there are a LOT of points).

I would have to say Gamecube for the reason that, along with the GB Player it can play thousands of great titles. It also has its own great games, some great remakes, some great ports (on the cube, GBA, GBC and GB), and some nice collections. Not to mention the fact that the controller is great and the load time is fast.
