Hey retro, I was wondering if you had any reccomendations on budget title DS games? You know the kind that get released for $19.99 or the games that you find in the bargain bins at best buy brand new for $9.99. Have you played any that are fun and worth the money? Theres one called "Escape the Museum" that I saw that seemed interesting, a point and click adventure game where you are trapped in a museum it seems.... |

Well I'm no retrocalypse but my ds collection is almost at 100 games now, and there's a fair amount of them under 15 dollars, and a real good amount 19.99 and under. The Dark Spire, Trace Memory, Exit DS, Boing Docomodake, and the Worms games are all good ones for around 10-15 dollars each. As far as 19.99 and under there are a ton. That escape the museum looks interesting but I've heard bad things about it. I may give it a try anyway. |

I'm not retrocalypse either, but that's also a pc game that's pretty fun. There's also an Escape The Museum 2 out on pc that I like even better than the first. Definitely check them out if you like pc games. I didn't realize the first game was released as a video game. |

Sorry it's taken so long to respond, but Pokemon SoulSilver has been monopolizing my time! KingJames offered up some good budget suggestions and he definitely knows his stuff. Some other budget titles to consider would be Mystery Dungeon which is usually always in a Best Buy bargain bin, and Emergency: Disaster Rescue Squad, which I found at Target for under $20. That's a fantastic little RTS game. I'm not even a fan of the genre and I couldn't put it down. Space Invaders Extreme 1 and 2 are both budget releases and should not be missed cause they're so damn good. Even more insane, Bangai-O Spirits is still out there for under $15 brand new which is an absolute steal for one of the best games on the platform. I can't say I've heard of "Escape the Museum" though. The title reminds me of that ridiculous Ben Stiller movie so I probably would have overlooked it if I happened to come across it in stores. Dragon quest rocket slime you can get for around 12 used at GS. Its a great little adventure game. N+ you can get for like 10 bucks new and its a very quick simple platforming game. This may just be my favorite DS game cause it is so addictive. I highly recommend it. It is the definition of pick up and play. Ninja Gaiden Dragon Sword ive seen you can get for around 10 dollars. Its a good hack and slash on the ds. Chrono Trigger on the ds ive seen for under 20 bucks. Its Chrono trigger. Nuff said. |

How could I forget those, especially since N+ and Ninja Gaiden were both fun games I have. The game days sale at gamestop is coming up as well. Last year they had 3-4 good ds games for around 50% off so let's see what they have this year. EDIT: After having been to the sale, it's horrible in terms of DS games, however I did happen to notice that Clash of heroes used is 19.99, Warioware Touched used is also 19.99, and Big Bang Mini is 8.99 used, three good games for three great prices if you can find them. Hotel Dusk Room 215 is new at $19.99 everywhere, and it's pretty good. It's more like a story book than a game though, because it is based mostly on story with lot's of text. You hold the DS like a book and use the touch screen for I think everything. It's a mystery game and lot's of fun I'd totally recommend it. There's a lot more though that I can't remember though. |
