Thoughts on new Gorillaz album?

So I've been listening to Plastic Beach for the past week and, given that I'm a huge fan of Gorillaz, figured I'd like to hear others peoples thoughts.

I enjoy most of the album, but think it had its high points then kinda descended on other parts.

Favorite Songs: Rhinestone Eyes, On Melancholy Hill, and Broken

Even though I enjoy most of it, and think its great - I still think its gonna be hard for them to top Demon Dayz.

Gorillaz is a band that fuses genres like hip-hop, rock, pop, and even some electronica. Your taste seems to gravitate towards hard rock and metal, so Gorillaz would probably not be your thing. But if you're feeling adventurous, give them a try; you might like it.

Personally, I've been a longtime fan of Damon Albarn's bands (Blur, Gorillaz, and The Good, The Bad and the Queen) and I have enjoyed both previous albums from Gorillaz, and I think that "Plastic Beach" is as good as either of the two previous efforts. Few of the songs are as catchy as "Feel Good Inc.", but it's quality music nonetheless. I don't care much for the cartoon band persona, but the music is catchy and I always find something to like in this band. I definitely recommend it.

Sega Does What Nintendon't

I will need a few weeks before I really can compare the two CD's but anything they put out would seem lackluster after the greatness that is Demon Days.

You should check out the DVD:

Demon Days: Live at the Manchester Opera House

No matter what kind of music your into this is a performance that shouldn't be missed.

I've been meaning to get my hands on their new album, I'm sure I'll still greatly enjoy it, I've always like Gorillaz quite a bit, just the flow of their songs and the way they compose and fuse different elements together.

Kids with Guns is probably one of my favourite songs by them.

Blur is my preference over these bands as they were so good in the 90's set along with Oasis.
I am a fan of some of the Gorillaz songs such as Clint Eastward and sunshine but most of their songs just seem too...random I think. Mixing all of these genres together puts me off. Although I do keep a wide variety of songs on my Ipod from different types of artists. Too much on one album.
