No doubt Episode 3 is my favorite. The dark secrect that has us wondering for 20 years about darth vader. And then in episode 3 they show how he was created lol. Just that started all the movies for me. |

I consider myself a little of a purist as well. To me, the prequels were trash, excepting Darth Maul and the combat sequences involving Yoda. Intellectually, I know that Hayden Christensen played an excellent Anakin. In order for him to be manipulated the way he was and have the hang-ups he did, you needed a whiny actor for the part. I just don't care for it. Secondly, I don't remember who said it, but Star Wars IS NOT just about Anakin. It's about the entire Skywalker clan. Maybe you should check out the books, comics, and the extensive wiki's. Darth Vader just sets the table. He may be the greatest villian of all time, imo, but the stories about him barely scratch the surface. They aren't even the most interesting, imo. Pretty sure Jacen Solo would shit all over Vader in a fight, too. Finally, my favorite movie would probably be Return of the Jedi followed by The Empire Strikes Back. More like 1 and 1A. All the reasons already specified by others are my own as well. Kharnivore and browland probably said it best. edit: and whomever mentioned Zahn, I salute you. Thrawn was amazing. Just imagine if he'd been around ... the Empire would still exist and Jedi wouldn't. The Rebellion wouldn't have had a chance even with an entire army of Jedi. I pretty much agree with the majority. V is the best. imo there was no need for a prequel series. The only movie prequel that was necessary was Episode III |

Attack of the Clones... Seriously? No, you are kidding right? He is having a laugh? Ok we get it ha..ha..ha... I am a guy who tries to defend the prequels, but Attack of the Clones is hard for me to even watch. Episode 1 had a lot of great qualities people forget, but obviously it had some major flaws. Episode III lives up to the Star Wars name in my opinion. Attack of the Clones is just a bad movie. It is the type of movie that gets worse for me every time I watch it. The suspense of watching it the first time made it an enjoyable experience for me, also I was young. If you like AotC the best, especially for the battle sequence then you like Star Wars for all the wrong reasons. All the philosophy, beauty, wit, etc...goes down the drain. It is your opinion though man. I love the battle sequences, but I love the complete package that is Star Wars. Edited by Richard, Aug 28 2013, 02:10 AM.
