If you're under 18, don't worry about weight. You get an automatic pass. ;P
You got exams and the other modern day stresses of growing up + a changing body, weight isn't an issue.

18+ no excuse :P
Yay I have no excuse lol.

Do you thing that you are overweight if you weigh 130 pounds at 13? And I am 5,9

I really need to get a new scale, because currently there is no scales to be seen. Last I checked I was 120 Ib. which I am pretty sure is about average for my age. I would like to lose a few pounds, but it is not crucial at this point. If I can maintain this size until grade 8, I will be alright.
yea I'm basically like 123 and I want too stay that for a year then i'll be average weight

I just thought I would post about a workout routine that I'm doing right now that really does work.... P90X!!!!

If anybody has been on the fence about this program I can tell that it is 100% legit and gives you results. I have already finished one 90 day round and I am now 2 weeks into a 2nd round of 90 days.

I have lost 24 lbs in body weight and gained a lot of muscle mass. I am 5'9 and weighed 182.5 and am now down to 158.5 and getting really toned. All you have to do is eat right by following the eating plan and just push the play button everyday and do the workouts. Try it guys....if you put the effort and work in you will lose weight guaranteed.

Being 5 foot 9 and 120pounds is far, far from being overweight.

Bear in mind, I'm 5'7", and I walk around at 160-165 pounds.

..1 month away from 15 years old, 101KG - around 225 Pounds. I've lost 3kg in the past week and a half (around 6.6 pounds) and plan on continuing and hope I can reach my goal 70kg (154 pounds).

I'm going to note my progression each week.

Right. My first MMA fight is booked for December 11th, I've had 2 grappling matches before hand (1-1), but this is the first time there's a possibility of being injured. So, along with technique, I need to start cutting weight, and bringing my strength up.

So, what does this mean? It means I'm unleashing a TOXXCLAUSE.

Goal:
Reach 70-72KG
Get my benchpress back up to 64KG 3x10.
Work on squats, ensure I'm squatting over my bodyweight.

Time Limit:
All of the above for December 10th. I think I'm walking around at around 75KG-76KG at the moment. Can only manage 3x8 @ 30KG on my bench. Squats are dire :(

How:

Caveman diet. Steak and protein shake in the morning, nuts fruit and veggies during the day, tuna salad for lunch, vegetarian meals in the evening. More protein shake at night.

Exercises every day, resting when my body tells me it's time.

Punishment if I don't make it:

I get my arse handed to me on December 11th.

Anyone else want to set themselves an achievable goal for 6 weeks time? List it, with a suitable punishment, and check back with your progress. Exercise should be hard work, but fun! Get to it! :D

That's some great inspiration to get yourself in the best shape possible. I really have to stop being lazy and get back to working out like I did before I had things to do :-/

Seriously though, I had a strength/agility/abilities test for an upcoming job a couple of weeks ago which I passed, but just barely and it ended up being a bit tougher than it should have been. I've been using that as inspiration to get working again. I have a ridiculously fast metabolism, and can stay the same weight within 3 pounds or so no matter if I eat a ton for weeks, or if I don't eat well at all, so really the working out is very important.

I'd like to challenge myself to gain 5 pounds of muscle by the time you have your fight. Le's see if I can do it, this will be a bit more inspiration now, with a set date for the goal, which helps.

I found the toxxclause great. You set an achievable, yet difficult goal. You set a punishment and a deadline. It's sorted.

Nothing is more motivating than getting your ass handed to you. Oh, except boobs :D

Oh, the real topic for me. Well, since my early childhood I was chubby (I even bear that nickname since those days, but I don't mind it, it's kinda funny to me :D). I was always the heaviest kid in class by a good margin.

And then, somewhere around of summer '09 I decided it's time for me to lose weight properly.

I'm 178,5 cm high and I had 108 kg at that time...

Step #1-I decided to go on my basketball practice regularly, every 2 days, monday, wednesday and friday. During summer break I went every day on the playground to play hoops for 4 hours and went to sea to swim for 6-7 hours every 2 or 3 days.

Step #2-On the ''off'' days I would workout with weights at home and also do sit-ups, crunches, push-ups etc.

Step #3-Threw the most junk food out of my system:

No ketuchp
Less pasta
No chocolate, cookies, sodas etc.

And it worked for me, I now weigh at 94 kg and I intend to drop somewhere around 83-85 kg, even then I would be overweight but I would concentrate on transforming remains of body fat into muscle.

A few tips I've learnt over my journey of fitness, some obvious, others not.

The act of turning fat into muscle is impossible. It'd be like turning your nose into an ear. You have to replace fat with muscle.

Gaining muscle not only looks aesthetically awesome, but it helps burn more fat off. Bear in mind however that muscle weighs more than fat. So don't be depressed if you maintain weight, or even gain it.

BMI is the biggest pile of crap ever, and you shouldn't give it any thought whatsoever. I've walked round with a sixpack, hopped on a BMI machine and been told my BMI slots me into the 'overweight' category.

You have to learn to listen to your body. Is it hungry, or just thirsty? Both *feel* very similar. Does your body need to rest, or are you just coming up with excuses? Listen to what your body tells you, for maximum happytime facesmile!

Your body doesn't want to be fat. For most people, it takes alot of hard work and effort to maintain their fatness. A strict diet of crap, and a stringent schedule of no-exercise. The *easy* way out would be to complete the minimum recommended amount of weekly exercise. 30 mins x 3 days a week.

Finally, a bit of asshole controversy. There's nothing wrong with being chubby, a little bit overweight. It's cute, it can work for you! However, truly *fat* people are not happy with how they look, no matter what they say. There is nothing attractive about being fat. Porky yes, fat no.

Remember: Exercise releases endorphins. Endorphins make yo happy, and it kinda sounds like dolphins. And dolphins are AWESOME.

Hey everyone!
I saw this topic earlier today, and I understood that I needed to do something about my lifestyle. It's not that I am very fat or anything, but I have been eating like shit lately, and not doing any training.
After reading your post Andsy, I checked out the Cave Man diet, and thumbled over this site:
www.cavemanpower.com
I am starting to follow this diet tomorrow, and I am looking forward to see how it is going!

I just had all my teeth yanked out at the tender age of 29. When you can't eat solids you lose weight pretty fast! Went from 210 to 165.... in 3 months. I dont reccomend it!

However while I was in college my fiance at the time was all about weight watchers. To support her I joined in on the fun. You don't really need to spend any money on the program. The info is out there on the net free.

For instance, I was set at 24 points a day when I started. To tally your points up for what you eat, you add the saturated fat, calories/100 and sodium. 1 point per gram of sat fat and 1 point per gram sodium. 1 point per 100 calories. There were tons of belly fillers that were 0 or 1 point each. I stuck to it and it worked really well. I was a little chunky at the time.. and was quite pleased with how it ended. I lost about 40 pounds in 2 months. I'm sure at least 10 pounds of it was pure water weight. I drank alot of soda. When I started WW, I switched from pepsi/coke products to a generic brand I can't remember now. It was caffiene free and tasted horrible. Eventually I cut it all out and became a water drinker. And thats when the weight started melting off.

Anyhow, 24 points was more than enough daily. You could eat an orange for 1 point any time you were hungry. Grapes were 0 points as well as... like carrot sticks/celery sticks, rice cakes, ya know, most fruits and vegetables.

The best part about it was that once a week (I chose Saturdays), you could go out and eat whatever you wanted (Usually a chinese buffet for me!). It was all part of the program.

If you are interested in it, check the wiki for it. You get your "allotted daily points" through an equation that takes into account your age/weight/height and as you lose weight, you reduce the daily points.

Very easy to stick to, and if you use your points right... you feel so full you might bust at times. But the program works. It did for me at least. Give it a shot. Try it for a week. Like I said, that first week I lost about 10 pounds (From giving up soda mostly I think) but it seemed that I lost another 5 pounds every week.

Again for quick reference it was something like
Points per meal = xg Sodium + xg Saturated Fat + x/100 calories = total weight watcher points per meal. It's not terribly hard to keep track of.

Can't recommend giving it a shot enough.

This is a very interesting topic. I'm 5 ft. 9 and a half inches, and about 99-107 lbs (it changes a lot for me. And yes, I'm a boy.) I'm still growing as well. But I have gotten tortured by people about how thin I am. I got called things like skeleton, bones, etc. For people trying to gain weight, I suggest gaining it the right way, with push ups. You'll get muscle instead of fat. It's been hard for me to gain weight.

I need to be 72KG, and I have 18 days to do it.

Currently 74.5, down from 76.

Usually I'd eat clean and really healthy 6 days a week, and then on the 7th, pig out, chocolate, crisps, whatever the hell I want.

Alas, this is no more. I can definitely reach 72KG, I just need to be extremely strict. I've also cut out most carbs, no rice, potatos, pasta... none of it. Except yesterday when I had VEGGIE BURGERS :D

I have slowly been trying to lose weight. I was exercising, but got lazy and stopped:p I have changed my diet, as well as when I eat. It hasn't been too extreme or anything, but I have lost 6kg since mid/late September. I now am going to try and drop 2 - 4kg within the next month. Wish me luck!
