I completely stopped working on gaining weight after having my physical abilities test and passing it, it ended up being more beneficial that I was lighter and quicker with a good heart rate, rather than strong. I'd still wanna try to gain some muscle back before this summer though, so I'll start again this week.

These aren't the droids we're looking for.

I've been inspired by Andsy, who is a BEAST (even in pudgy stage), so I'm gonna start trying to get into shape. I'm somewhere between 5'6 and 5'7 and weigh about 130.

I'ma start slow, buy some better shoes (all I has is boots ;() and add a few miles of walking to my afterwork schedule (4 days a week; I work overnights and get off in the morning, so I'd best go straight to the walking trail before heading home).

I have a disease in my hips (Legg-Calve-Perthes disease, for those interested), moreso in my right than my left, so getting into shape will be beneficial in that department. Aside from walking, I'm clueless as to what to do, aside from pushups and crunches and crap. Going to the gym will be tough, but not impossible, perhaps add that to my morning schedule. I dunno.

I just need a change >.>

I'ma take some pictures for a sort of before and after thingy.

I'ma I'ma I'ma.

Excellent choice Mr King. If you need any help, PM, or ask here. Bear in mind I used to be 100KG+ and an alcho, so anythings possible ;D

I'm the opposite of most people here. I'm trying to gain weight. I'm currently 5'9 and 105.2 pounds.

My goal is to get to 120 pounds in the next few months. Baseball season starts soon. I know I'll still be a stick figure, but, I'm a major one right now ;)

Wow, I actually way more than you, Eric! Although I haven't weighed myself in quite a while because we don't have a good scale around here (well maybe my mom does in her room, lemme go check), I do want to get more into shape.

Yes I would like some help. My metabolism is so out of control that when I was working out actively it took me about 2 years to gain about 12 pounds of muscle. This was with a very good diet with plenty of carbs, proteins, and everything else. I pretty much just worked out and ate while I wasn't in class. It hasn't seemed to slow down any yet as people told me it would, so for now I'm trying to get myself used to eating even more every day while doing some basic weight training exercises that I can do at home.

It's not so much the weight lifting I need help with, I just can't find an efficient way to gain weight. With random hours at work, usually not being home on the weekends, attending to my dog and all types of tests/situations/interviews for a job I'm trying to get, every time I start back up again I get side tracked. there's nothing anyone can do to help that, but I've found I don't seem to have enough time in the day, or money, to eat the way I'd like to.

By cutting out sugared pop, in one year I have lost 40 pounds. I live with someone who is a diabetic and I eat what they eat. So like ground turkey, chicken, greens, fruits, sugar free beverages, wheat grains and I feel great. It was extremely hard at first but then you get used to the healthy foods and those fast food places become more and more unappetizing as each day passes. Keep at it guys

I finally got a good pair of shoes, so when I get off work in the morning, I'm going straight to the park to walk several miles. Going to try to do this every morning.

Baby steps :P

I am probably going to try to gain weight now and up my diet. This slow method of gaining muscle, while cutting up is so slow.

I am just going to focus on getting bigger. 6" 155 pounds isn't working for me. I would like to be 170 by the end of Summer. Will update you guys :).

I need to add massively to my diet. Bigger Breakfast and probably two more small meals a day.

BY THE WAY, for newcomers to the working out scene and getting into shape, it is all about diet from my experience. You can workout all the time, but if you don't change your diet you aren't going to see the changes you want. There are some people who can workout as much or less than you and not diet nearly as much as you and have bodies that are twice as good as yours. It can also work vice versa. Even though I break this rule all the time, make sure you judge yourself based on your own personal body!

I started out from being a super skinny kid(Elementary School)----->fat(LateElementary/Jr. High)------>in between(Freshman HS)------->pretty good shape(Sophmore/Junior HS)------>to fat again(Beginning of Senior Year)--------to skinny(Mid-End of Senior Year/first half of Freshman Uni)----->Good to very decent Shape with gym going body(Sophmore/Junior Year of Uni which is now).

I have been on all spectrum's and understand the feelings and connotations that go with each. I knew how it was like being that fat kid in Jr. High(wasn't that fat, but when most people were skinny 12/13 year olds it wasn't fun), being that skinny kid, when I started working out being that guy that had to earn other people's respect(being proud of working out and having people tell you your not big or you need to work on this or that and kinda being a downer, but on the other side getting support from many people as I improved), to being in pretty darn good shape and proud of my body and getting compliments, and even to now where I am in good shape but still have a bit of work to get my body into the shape it was before but nonetheless nothing to be ashamed of and still in better shape than most people for sure/have a better body than most.

It is all about diet/work ethic but mostly diet. The EASIEST thing to do is lose weight. Trust me. It is much MUCH harder to be a guy going for muscle, trying to be cut, or gain weight. Losing weight is just determination and let me tell you this as motivation, if you are merely looking to shed some pounds and you are not looking for a perfect body, but just a better body and some fat here and there is no problem it is super easy. Going out and jogging/running a few days a week and cutting some bad eating habits will get you there in no time.

If you are like me who want to go above that and try to achieve a very good body then that is another story, but there really is no excuse and not giving a go at losing some fat because honestly it is just a mentality and state of mind that you can get over with effort. Andsy is a great example of a body that is NOT easy to obtain. It takes tons of hard work and dedication. If that is your goal prepare for a super long and tough journey.

I need to lose some serious weight this year, so I'm glad I came across this from my favourite poster on the forum ;)

I currently weigh (and ashamed) of being 300lbs

I'm 5'11 but have massive health issues which do not help

But reading up on other people's experiences I've decided I need to tone up!
I'll keep you posted if anyone is interested it starts today and so far I haven't picked for anything which is good!

Just need to get excersizing!

Cheers Andsy, another great topic :)

I must admit that I have regressed somewhat myself. Owing to several factors including stress at work, lack of sleep and just busy times in general, my exercise plan has gone by the wayside. I must rectify this immediately.
