What do you look for when buying NES/SNES/N64 games?; What makes you purchase NES games?

Do you just buy them as they are, look for them boxed, with manuals? Want cartridges free of marker writing or dents?

What factors into your purchasing of old NES/SNES/N64 games?

I tend to buy games that I enjoy. However, if I see a boxed game, I almost always instantly buy it.

i don't really have time to play anymore, but for the NES i just look for complete boxed games these days. and i try to avoid squashed/ripped boxes as i would prefer not to upgrade condition in the future.

for the SNES i go for minty titles that are complete but only games i enjoyed as a kid, stuff like nbajam/MKII/Zelda/mana/mariokart/unirally and maybe a handful more.

i used to collect N64 but sold out 2 years ago to fund my NES addiction but when i did collect i only collected cart only

Sometimes, I find games where the plastic on the back half of the cartridge or even front half of the cartridge discolor for some reason. This is the main thing I look out for and try to avoid.

Marker on my games don't bother me since I can take it off no problem.

I don't try to get boxed NES games, but if I find one, as long as its in decent shape Ill buy it.

Label must also be 100% intact with no damage at all.

These are the main things I look out for when buying NES games.

I look out for the label and any sun damage.
I also HATE it when video rental places put stickers all over the place, or when kids write their names on 'em =/

Classic games/rare games in at least good condition to mint and I want it complete.

I collect alot of old school rpgs, but I also go after the great games back in the day.

When I buy N64 cartridges on eBay I ALWAYS make sure they have no writing on them, sticker is in tact and it doesn't have stains of feces on the edges, and why the hell do people write their name on the side? Alright Bob, I the cartridge thief shall return your game as soon as possible?

NO..

I always go for the box, booklet and cartridge combo. I try to find the best condition possible. Thankfully, one of the stores I go to, every other month or so, labels if the game works and what condition the box and booklet are in. As for what games, I try to get ones I have played or have an interest in playing. I'll branch out to games I haven't played some time down the road. Sometimes, it is a bit hard, because the Japanese name can be very different than the English title@_@

I go for whatever I can generally, although if I see them boxed I'll try and fork out the extra cash for it.
