I hate these ones. I will avoid these like the plague, but Microsoft changed the design of it so they look much better now. Early on though we had this.   Eeek. Just look at that monstrosity! Aside from that example I don't mind if a game is Platinum or not. I'm not paying more money for the same game, or avoid buying a game I want just so it doesn't say Platinum at the top. I don't care about collecting like you guys do,all i care about is owning a game (legally) not how i own it. To me owning Sonic's Ultimate Genesis Collection is just like owning all of those 40 Genesis games on seperate cartridge,hell,i even think its much better because of how convenient it is,just imagine how much money i saved by not buying a used Genesis,used controllers (that may be broken) and finding all of those game in used cartridge format. Better yet! i bought the game brand new so that is money that went into Sega's pocket. I actually never plan on buying an NES for similar reason,i just get the games i want on the Wii VC. Ahhh this is one of the few infamous threads from when I just started... honestly, I don't think personal opinion matters; original labels are worth more than re-hashes therefore it makes sense for people to strive for only originals more. Some people don't even buy them or consider them a part of their collection, that's their prerogative. |

I was forced into buying a platinum hit yesterday.. Its going to forever haunt the back of my mind. I got Soul Calibur 4. I could not find it used ANYWHEERE! So I got the platinum hit. Luckily I have the collectors edition case, from when i previously owned it. So its hidden.. but its there... haunting me. |

I really sometimes hate getting greatest hits but I do like that they make them because that makes the black label more valuble. |

that's why I love PS3. Aside from a little bar saying "greatest hits" there's no difference between covers. Some have Red cases, but that can easily be changed |
