Since Pete had to close his "Pixel Shop" for awhile. I think he should just make a tutorial on his channel and show all of us how he makes those awesome video game sprits. That way he won't have to keep up with the demand of all his subscribers and we can all try to make our own and show each other our creations and give tips on own to make them.

What are your thoughts on this?

I make them with lego's. I think it's cooler. Also cheaper IMO.

I've seen some of them in your videos (I dig your videos by the way). They're cool, but Pete's are so much more detailed.

Have you seen that Samus Aran sprite he did? Its freaking awesome!

He discontinued them before when I found out he made them :( I still really want some. Whether he opens up shop again or posts a video, I am extremely interested in getting some.

I think it would slow down bussiness in his "Pixel Shop" which could be a good and bad thing at the same time.

It would mean he loses money, but it also means he could keep up with the demand a little better while some of the people who originally wanted to buy some try to make their own sprites instead.

It is pretty simple how you do it, you get perler beads, get a picture of a sprite you want to make, stick the beads together. its incredibly easy to copy an 8 or 16 bit image with perler beads.

I've made them on and off for years, they use to be part of a craft in elementary school, but of course back then we would make flowers and animals and the teachers would iron them for us.

I forgot about them for awhile since they can be quite an expense and Pete brought that inspiration back, it's one of my favourite calming past times now. I have made many, but mostly just for friends.

There are many tutorials already on youtube over what you would need, it is very pricey when you first start off because I recommend you buy a bucket of mixed perlers in the 8000-11,000 count. Reason for this being you familiarize yourself with the many shades of colours available to you, but it's a PAIN to sort through, than I would buy single colours from there on.

Currently I'm working on a Megaman 1 set for a friend and it's been fun!

I can understand why Pete took a break, as I said it can be pricey, it's also very time consuming, I was working on a large Cloud Sprite bust (unfortunately mom dropped something on his face before he was ironed and ruined almost 10 hours of work) and when you have many demands it's too hard to keep up with.

My little bro has done that. He has a mario/sonic and a few others I believe. Pretty cool and he has a very nice mario. I should probably think about displaying them once I get my room finished up ;).

I started making them finally woo! They are kind of a pain to make though. Anyone have any advice to stop them from curling up after you iron them?

@sdcpro, maybe lay something relatively heavy on them? I've never made them, but I'd bet that putting down something on top of it while it cools off would solve your problem. Nothing crazy heavy like an encyclopedia, but just something flat.
