I have read about 5 books in the past month so I am kind of taking a break from reading, but I have to read Great Expectations by Charles Dickens over the summer for Honors, so I should get on that. But, I also want to time it right so that I finish it right before school starts again, because we are going to be tested on it the first week so it should be fresh in my mind.

I just finished Carrie, and now I'm in the middle of 'Salem's Lot, The Wheel of Time book 6: Lord of Chaos, and Beyond Einstein: The cosmic quest for the theory of the universe. I usually have about 3 books going depending on my mood I read what fits it.

BTW, 'Salem's Lot feels so much like Alan Wake it's not funny...

Good old Holden Caufield, one of the first emo characters written about in a school book ha ha. Enjoy the reading.

I am currently reading Dean Koontz's novel 'The Voice of the Night'. Very good read so far. I've also been reading bits of the Star Wars Atlas here lately too, big Star Wars fan right here :]

Just got Guild Wars: Ghosts of Ascalon yesterday. Only one chapter in so far but seems to be very good so far. Really like the writing style and the chapter ended with a climax.

My High School has this summer reading thingy, so I'm reading stuff. I'm going into 9th, and I'm taking Honors English so I have to read three books from a list and do a project on them. I have to do 2 Fictions and 1 Non-Fiction, so I chose:

For One Day I finished this one, it was very good. There was one annoying sub-plot but it was overall very good.

The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Nighttime Finished this one as well, I really enjoyed this one. Clever twist on the Mystery genre, a genre I'm generally not a big fan of.

Fist Stick Knife Gun Trudging through this one... "A Personaly History of Violence." I'm sure back when it was written (mid-90's) it was much more interesting, but in 2010 this is a story told way too many times in different mediums.

Currently reading The Legend of Sleepy Hollow; I've never read it before, so I thought now's as good a time as ever to read something considered a classic! I'm not very far in at the moment, but I'm sure I'll tear through it pretty quick.

My procrastination is killing me. I still have to read Great Expectations before the start of my school year and I am only on like page 18 out of 380. I know now that I will need to waste one of these days to read like 100 pages just to catch myself up and then read somewhere around 20 pages a day to get it done. But, I keep putting it off until night and I always start to fall asleep while reading it. This shows how boring the book is, because I am hardly ever naturally tired. xD

Haha, I'm glad to say I have gotten way past page 18 of Great Expectations. I know sit somewhere around the 93 mark, and have been reading about 40 pages a day for the past couple of days, with the occasional only 20 pages here and there. Shows how much I am going to have to read a day in order to get all 380 pages read and over with.

To be honest, this book is one of the most boring books I have ever read and has not aged well seeing as it was written in the 1800's.

I yearn for the day language arts teacher give us some current and exciting fantasy books to read for school. Especially over the summer. :|

I love the Redwall series! I've only read 7 out of the 21 books currently out. The first one I read was Mossflower, way back in 2002 during middle school (it's still my favorite!); my Science teacher loved the series (she even had a pet mouse in the classroom named Martin), so everyone, including me, made a mad dash to the school library and checked out any Redwall book we could get our hands on. I really need to get back into the series....

Haha nice! I bought the Redwall book back over 10 years ago and never opened it until I recently found it in some boxes I was going through. The way Jacques writes about the food in the books just makes your mouth just water.. haha

I read the first two about 2 and 3 years back. Very enjoyable to hear about all these small creatures fighting themselves to the death instead of being boring and peaceful. I have the third book but have yet to start it.
