I personally think it's a tad too soon. I mean, you can basically add-on to LBP all you want and make "Sequels" of sorts. But if they add enough new content, I suppose it's justifiable.

I think everyone knew that an LBP 2 was gonna come out, but I, like Johnny Justice, thought it to be unneccesary.
I can say that after watching that trailer, LBP 2 seems like it's going to be a pretty big update, an update not possible through patches and packs.
The ad is also so heartfelt, and the graphics and the song they used were great.

This is on my radar!

Wow can't wait and they chose a good song for the trailer. Passion Pit is cool.

Not sure if they can make it different enough to justify it being a full retail release, LBP is the type of game that is really hard to make a sequel to without it being a glorified dlc pack.

Sony's given LittleBigPlanet 2 a 16th November release date in the US.

The publisher also laid out the contents of the LBP 2 Collector's Edition. Inside this is, YES, a plushie Sackboy; LBP-themed book ends - the weighty bits for shelves to stop books falling off; 11 pre-order and two exclusive costumes; and five LBP2 PlayStation Network avatars.

The Collector's Edition will cost $80.

At the moment I think that's just a US thing so don't worry, I'd imagine the UK will get something similar.

LittleBigPlanet 1 is still sealed on my shelf, but I'm definitely getting that collectors edition.

Media Molecule has announced a delay for LittleBigPlanet 2.

The PS3 game had been expected in November, but will now be released in January 2011.

"We know this will come as disappointing news for all you LittleBigPlanet fans, and believe us, we are disappointed too," wrote MM on its website. "We are a tight-knit team and we take enormous pride in our work, so to raise the bar we've set with the original LittleBigPlanet, a game that has been so embraced by all, we've agreed to allow ourselves a bit more time to deliver the experience that our great fans and community deserve.

"We are truly sorry, but hope you understand that we have to build the best possible game, as it is the foundation of our community."
