New User Posts: 18 Group: Members Member #1,982 Joined: May 4, 2010	I recently started my YouTube gaming channel. I put up my first video a couple weeks ago. That 11min video took nearly 15 hours to put together, due to numerous technical problems. I was thrilled after I finally finished the video and promptly changed my tools for making the videos. This week, I started on my second video. Again, countless issues have slowed me down. Last night, I was so happy to have finally finished the last of my video captures, only to find the capture software deleted the file due to an apparently known bug (which I only found out about after contacting tech support) with files of a certain size. So now I'm sitting here wondering ... is it all worth it? I figured this would be a fun little hobby, but it's getting to the point where I can't put this amount of work in to each video. I'm fine with spending a few hours putting it together, but it gets to be a little much when I'm just constantly putting out fires for 15+ hours. Honestly, I'm not really sure why I'm posting this other than to vent. It's been a very frustrating process so far, so it's probably not the best hobby to come home to from an already high stress day job. I'm on the fence at the moment as to wether to just fight it out and get the second video done, or throw in the towel. The idea of quitting is not one I like at all, as it's just not in my nature, but the result of all this may not be a positive one (for me) in the end.

Hurf n' Durf Inc. Posts: 1,480 Group: Members Member #1,443 Joined: Dec 14, 2009	I had similar issues. I purchased a good rig, and a BlackMagic Intensity Pro capture card, hella expensive. Issues with my hardware meant my captures didnt work, I spent hours upon hours on these projects, and none of them came to fruition. When I finally did pump out a review, no one watched it. I spend roughly 4 hours on a review now (not counting playtime). And I still get relatively small numbers of people watching, but the numbers are slowly rising... Keep on doing it, until you're not happy doing it any more. It's a long, long process. It'll feel like you're smashing your head against a brick wall. But keep on, and one day you'll make it. That's what I'm hoping at least

The goal is to have it posted in the next couple of days. Fingers crossed that my computer doesn't burst in to flames while editing

Wake up in the morning and thier done. Granted my quality isnt the best and this doesnt include reviews. I wouldnt bother making videos if it took 15 hours to do.

Level 4 Posts: 383 Group: Members Member #785 Joined: May 25, 2009	My computer is pretty outdated so since i've gotten an hd camera i've had tons of problems, it lags so damn much alot of times editing turns into a guessing game. it takes alot of patience to get anything done, i really need to get a new computer but i don't have the cash right now.
