I finally finished my 20 day work stretch and I'm finally back home for about 8 days. While I was home I got a package from one of my co-workers who doesn't work on our environmental team anymore. He told me he had a Turbo Grafx-16 with a few games that he would sell to me. I finally got the package in today and I'm actually quite amazed the amount of games that came with it. Along with the system with all the hook-ups and three controllers, these were the games that I got with it. All games are loose: Keith Courage in Alpha Zones Super Adventure Island Air Zonk Victory Run Bonk's Revenge World Sports Competition Blazing Lazers Neutopia II Pac-Land TV Sports Hockey Parasol Stars Legendary Axe II Bravoman Impossamole Veigues Tactical Gladiator CraterMaze Space Harrier Ninja Spirit Bonk's Adventure I also have to send my friend a check because I told him I would pay a good price for digging this up for me. I know for the system and all these games it would be more than $100 for sure. I'm just the type of person I got no problems paying a little extra more to help a friend out. I would like to know did in terms of the games that I obtained which ones kind of spring out. I would appreciate if someone could give me a good idea what they would pay if they owned all of this themselves. Remember, I'm not looking to get this for cheap, I believe in paying my friend a good price for this, so any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you for your time. |

Worth at least 125 bucks. The system can go for 30 - 70 by itself. If this is a first owner system and it is clean then it would be on the higher end of the spectrum. Blazing Lazers is fantastic. It is a game based off a Japanese Full Motion Action movie, GunHed. Other games are worth 5-15 bucks depending on the quality I would say. 125 would be a good if he's a friend. |

you got 4 rather rare games in the lot, Air Zonk - worth around $50 loose and over $100 complete. Neutopia II - worth around $40 loose and over $100.00 complete. Parasol Stars - worth around $30.00 loose and around $70 plus complete. New Adventure Island - worth $30.00 loose and over $100 complete. Prices are based loosely from eBay. I would feel bad if he was my friend and I gave him less than $200 US for that lot. I am assuming you have New Adventure Island...... you have it listed as Super Adventure Island. |

I've seen Air Zonk go for around $25 on ebay loose. I'd pay around $125, the controllers themselves go for $15 each online. However, since you know him around $175 would be fair. |

Majin, where exactly are you getting your prices? Air Zonk recently sold for $20 loose, and $50 complete. A quick search of ebay, which is generally high, shows that none of the four games should go over $50, totally complete with box. Neutopia 2 maybe. For a price on the lot, it depends on how complete all the games are. If everything is boxed $300 would be closer to the real value, if they are case only or loose, $150-$200 is probably fair. |

I buy a lot of games and search eBay almost every day. Air Zonk will flux more so than others but if you want a boxed copy that's in good shape its going to run around $100 on average. You might luck up and win one cheap but I was listing prices on what the average buy it now price is for a close to mint 100% copy. New Adventure Island was one I had been looking for forever 100% complete and it almost always is over $100. I did list prices from about the lowest I have saw them to the highest because you never know whats prices are going to be on eBay but I don't think they are off too much. Also when I say complete I mean 100% complete cardboard box and all. You can get Parasol Stars right now off eBay for around $35-$40 but it don't have the box. Just adding the box on most TG-16 games will double the cost. Edited by majinpowers, Jul 5 2010, 11:25 PM.

Buy-it-now prices for Turbo Stuff on ebay are terrible. Judging prices based on average buy-it-now prices on ebay will almost always give you a grossly inflated price. Case in point, some fool is selling a NEW/SEALED Double Dungeons right now for $250. link here Double Dungeons, sealed, is $30 tops. Looking at ebay's completed listings is somewhat more reasonable, because then you aren't factoring in outrageous buy-it-now auctions that sit on ebay for months. There's a guy that's selling a new TurboGrafx-16 for $2479. link here These prices are absurd. People just getting into TurboGrafx need to be made aware that sometimes US versions of some games do not come across ebay all that often, and when they do, sometimes there are nothing but overpriced buy-it-nows. |

prices for Turbo stuff on eBay is high but its about the only reliable way to buy TG-16 stuff here in the states. Some stuff is vastly overpriced like a US Turbo DUO and like the sealed stuff you posted but I didn't list anything anywhere near that inflated or outrageous. being a collector for the system I stick by my listings and still think they are about right, sure you might get one cheaper or you might pay more but that's how auctions work. out of the 4 Air Zonk is the only one that ping pongs price around a lot depending on how many are listed and the condition of the game. the other three easily will go for around $100 complete. Also 3 of those games are "newer" titles for the TG-16 and did not come with a CD case but instead came in a cardboard box with the instruction manual and Hu Card inserted into a plastic tray. In general these games go for more complete because you didn't have a case to keep everything nicely together to prevent losing stuff. Edited by majinpowers, Jul 6 2010, 01:42 AM.

US Duo's generally are a bit overpriced but not too bad. Here's one that sold recently that sold for $269, including Dracula X (a 60-80 dollar game by itself), three controllers, Duo tap, and all hookups in working condition: link here Here's a boxed, near-complete US Duo with four games that went to $255, but didn't sell because the seller probably had an inflated reserve. link here I was recently shopping for a possible replacement for my US Duo, which is currently under repair. I nearly missed several US Duos that ranged from about $180 unboxed with hookups to $350 with a bunch of games. Majin, you said in the PC-Engine/TurboGrafx thread that a US Duo can go for over $700 "easy"..... Only if it includes 50 games, several of which are among the rares, a few joystick controllers, and a TurboGrafx-16 as a throw-in like this one: link here |

True that US DUO sold for $269.00 but its not complete and look at the shape its in. Again I have to say that's how auctions are, sometime you get something for cheap sometimes not so much. The Duo that didn't sell had a Reserve of $660 because its boxed and looks in good shape. Also if you use your own link to the TG-16 thread I made and reread what I wrote you will see I said "A USA Turbo DUO could go for over $700.00 easy" and unfortunately they more often then not do if there in nice shape and boxed.

Did you ask that seller what his/her reserve was? 660 looks like the buy-it-now price, which would have gotten the buyer 3 additional mystery games. The box wasn't complete, missing half of the styrofoam. $255 is a bit low, I could see that particular lot going for 300-350, but the 660 buy-it-now was outrageous. The $269 duo wasn't boxed but it had a 60-80 game with it, official AC adapter, AV cable, multitap, and three controllers. Such prices are commonplace for TurboDuo auctions. Steer clear of outrageous buy-it-nows for Turbo stuff. |

Rag-time4 talks about Turbo stuff on ebay like it is super easy to find games, accessories, and stuff for cheap in auctions. No matter what, any NA Turbo related auction is always going to end with an outrageous bid because the collectors are fucking insane. Good thing import BINs for the most part aren't always obnoxiously priced unless the seller is jump-to-japan.

That US duo that went for only $269 with Dracula X was a steal. I'll be keeping an eye out for a reasonably priced Turbo Duo in the future. |

Well I didn't expect my thread to jump up in terms of interest. I just wanted to provide a little update. I finally sent the cheque to my friend just a few days ago. With regards to all the stuff. The fact that all the games were cartridge only. I paid him $150.00 for it. I thought it was a fair price, and I checked with the Happy Console Gamer, since he is a big pc engine fan. Anyway, thanks for the help guys, this is only the start to my turbo-Grafx 16 colletion, and even though eventually it will be an expensive venture, it is one that I look forward to. |

Turbo auctions aren't super easy to find, you're right Nintega. If potential buyers aren't patient to wait around, they may end up overpaying on a buy-it-now. The more word can get out that many of the buy-it-nows are over the top, maybe the more people will pass them up. Auctions for NA turbo stuffs certainly don't always go super high, as shown by several of the links I shared above. Stuff does get crazy, though, when it comes to the really rare US games, like your Dynastic Hero or your Magical Chase. As for Jump-to-japan, he's honestly my favorite japanese seller to work with, but I agree that his prices do tend to be a bit high on buy-it-nows. His packaging and his service, I've found, are the best in the biz. Not all his stuff is overpriced, he has a lot of stuff near the $25 and under range at the moment that is pretty reasonable, though certainly cheaper auctions can be had. Hit-Japan is another good seller whose prices tend to be much lower than jump-to-japan's buy-it-now prices, but his packing and service are not at jump-to-japan's standard (but not terrible by any means) |

I would normally agree with this sentiment, yet I just picked up Shinobi (complete) from him for $19. |
