I know Pete has talked about this sometime before, but I dunno if there is a Thread about it. The game looks great, but I was wondering just who exactly is behind Watermelon games, and how many people. How long has it taken them, and when will it be released? |

their site is down and says "WILL BE BACK SOON!" so I think they are readying the site for the official release and shipment, exciting! I am pumped for getting around to finally playing this, in a way I wish I did not know so that when it arrives in the mail I am like "oh my god I forgot all about this game!".

Any chance of talking about Pier Solar on the podcast pete? See if the other guys know of it and maybe thier thoughts on the whole project. Im really hoping this comes before christmas, almost like a gift from santa himself haha. |

I think you can probably give it another week. Apparently, they're shipping from China, and they just started, so it'll be at least a few days, if not a week. |

Yep, got mine too... "Hello friends of Pier Solar, this email is about preorder id : _____, packaging : u, Posterity Edition." Their quality control system is that you have to sign for it at the door to get the package. That way, if it appears damaged, you simply refuse it at the door. Not the greatest system in the world, and not foolproof either, but at least it's coming. So, either make sure that someone can be home or plan on picking it up at the post office. The first person to report receiving the game was yesterday. Unfortunately, he's in Taiwan, which isn't far from where the game was shipped. It looks like it may be after Christmas for the rest of us. |

There's still a chance. They have the left over stock after all of he initial copies have been received. Also, I heard on their forums that there's a very, very, VERY small easter egg when you play the game on a 32X system. No enhancement, though. Edited by TV's Mr. Neil, Dec 22 2010, 09:11 AM.

I think the game is going to be set at $40 when it goes back on sale. Again, they said that they have extra copies to cover damages, but they'll likely sell those copies to additional orders as soon as all of the initial copies have arrived. Also, the game is absolutely a cartridge game. The CD is an optional extension to the game, giving you enhanced audio. You get the disc whether you have Sega CD or not. It has some PC extras as well, I think. By the way, speaking of extras, check out all the cool extra stuff that comes with Pier Solar! This is the first time we're getting a good look at this stuff. My personal favorite is the "Don't torture the cartridge" page in the manual. The best being the picture of someone trying to put the game into a Super Famicom. These pictures are all from people who've received the game in the east or from the dev team itself. Not me. I have the red-label (US) version, and mine hasn't come yet. I guess there are a lot of people who ordered the US version who are still waiting. I'm getting a little frustrated. They said that it would take about 20 days to get here, but I didn't expect it to be this literal. This is the longest I've ever waited for an import package. Also, they said that five units were destroyed in transit. Fonzie's going to replace those and send them out next week. Nobody knows yet whose games got ruined in the mail. So a few of us might be waiting a few more weeks. On a different note, a recent discovery was made on the Pier Solar website. An easter egg was uncovered of a possible (but totally NOT confirmed) fourth cart design. [EDIT] Well... it's confirmed NOW. Also, the Pier Solar forum members have already dumped the disc image. If you don't have the game yet, I strongly suggest you go get it. The disc is awesome. They've got three game prototypes on there and a ROM that is a music player of the FM chiptune soundtrack. I'm officially starting to get worried about my copy now. People already have vids up on youtube where they have gotten their copies. The Pier Solar site also has many people on the forums that have recieved theirs as well. I'm trying to be patient but they are already putting the 2nd run up for order when lots of people have not even recieved the 1st run yet. |

I'm on that forum and Sega-16. There are a lot of people who haven't gotten the game yet. It's really getting aggravating. I asked Fonzie about tracking numbers and he said there aren't any for customers. And yet I know that he tracks them somehow. I'm like, "Can you give me ANY information?" I know he's got some 2000+ customers to consider, but come on. It seems like they should have thought of this. It was supposed to take 20 days to get here, it's now been over 20 days. I've never had an import package take this long to arrive. I'm not worried yet, but I am getting annoyed. I'm near Chicago, and I'm a little irritated that people in my area of the country have been receiving their copies. Plus, I guess a few copies got destroyed in transit. It's highly improbable that I (or you, for that matter) would be one of the unlucky few who have to have theirs resent, but that possibility has me a little on edge, anyway. I took a whole week off last week, just so I could be here. If they have to resend it, it's going to be another month. It's not a huge deal, but it is really annoying not knowing when or IF it's really on its way. |
