Which Classic 2D Game series did you like when you were younger? I myself prefered the Sonic Series, The Sonic the hedgehog series was just a kick in the balls to Nintendo, Sega was like "Would you rather play Super Mario Bros. or Sonic the hedgehog with 16-bit graphics, and speed processing." and it was no comparison, Sonic really showed Mario who the king of platformers was. But nowadays Sonic has really been below sub-par, if only they had kept their on going successful line of 2D platformers, you can only dream... I have yet to give my thoughts on Sonic 4 |

They are both great in my opinion. I didn't really take sides in the Sonic/Mario war because by the time I was old enough to represent my favorite platform character it was Crash. To be honest, I enjoy Mario games a bit more, but I like Sonic as a character more. I am a Link fanboy anyway and whatever the results of a Sonic vs Mario war ends up to be I can't complain. |

lol. It is funny how I meet so many people online who talk about owning these lower profile system yet 99% of the people I know IRL well actually probably more than that don't even know what a turbographix is. |

In the town I live in there used to be a local owned movie and game rental store that rented and sold TG-16 stuff. The guy had a huge section for the system with games displayed and even a TG-16 on display you could play. I remember going in there as a kid and seeing the games and thinking my Nintendo didn't have anything on this. This played a huge factor in me getting the console. There were a few kids that ended up getting a TurboGrafx where I live due to that local store and the owners love for the system. One thing I will say for the minority of us that did own a TG-16 as a kid we are a loyal and die hard group. There really never has been another console that matched the magic the TG-16 brought me and I long for the day that NEC / Hudson Soft makes another console. I liked both, but started with Mario. Not sure I really like one more than the other. Sonic 2 and Sonic CD were epic bliss. Was disappointed in Sonic 3 and Sonic & Knuckles, but now I actually like those two somewhat. Liked most of the Mario's. Hated Yoshi's Island on the SNES, though. I don't know. I found the baby Mario annoying and really hated the game's soundtrack. Found it intensely annoying. Didn't think it was as fun as Super Mario World (its predecessor). Didn't care for any of the 3D Sonics at all. I absolutely hate them. Found Mario 64 boring, too, but at least it felt playable. Haven't played Sunshine or Galaxies yet. I think Mario works better in 3D than Sonic, although I'd still prefer Mario in 2D. Yeah, about the same for both. I guess I'd have to give the edge to Mario though. |

I was a bit of a sega fanboy as a kid so sonic was my favourite for a long time. I think it was his lack of appearance in saturn era that made me kind of forget about him, that and the fact mario 64 is amazing and gave mario a real great sense of character. |
