Since I'm starting my first year of university in September I was wonder how many others here are in or are soon starting college/university and what you're going in for.

I'll be going to Ryerson University for Computer science. (BSc)

Now, back to studying for Calculus exam next week...

I am currently enrolled in a degree program at Athabasca University, which is currently being done online. I studied film back in college, but I have been working full time for over 10 years and I decided to switch to a business-oriented degree. I take the courses online while working full time - it's hard work but also immensely rewarding. My current major is Human Resources and Labor Management.

Most of my leaning is done on walls, I tried a post once but it felt a little unstable.

I'm currently doing Summer School at my University and when the fall semester starts I will be a Junior(Third Year/Beginning of Upper Division for those who do not use the US based seniority system)

My major is international business with an emphasis in Western Europe/Germany to be specific. Basically I am a hybrid Business Major/German Major.

Oh...I will be declaring Management as my business emphasis. For those of you who didn't know, you have to decide between marketing, management, financing, or accounting when you move up to upper division Business and that will pretty much define your degree/what classes you will be taking.

I'm about to graduate next week. I plan on going to college in Spring. I need time off, or I may die. The stress really gets to me. But when I do go, I'll be going for either theatre or music. Hopefully music, if I can find the right school. Most won't accept me because I play by ear, and I can't read music. But I'm in talks with one school about getting in anyway.

You must live close to me, both are pretty good schools, try to get a feel for the professors and other things to see where you would enjoy it more.

Yeah, a few of my friends are going to Stony Brook. I'm just graduating high school now, and am staying in the area (lower Upstate New York- yes, I know XD) for community college to figure out what I want to do on the cheap.

I'm currently going to college as well. My college orientation is tomorrow coincidentally and I just finished up my first 2 years of college at community college.

I'm going for a Sports and Fitness Degree, however with the way things are I should maybe consider going for a Business degree. Best of luck to all of us graduating college :P

Funny I would stumble upon this thread, I'm planning on going back to school for art. If I do make up my mind and go I'll be going to the Barrie Georgian College.

I was kicked out of college for being a naughty boy. :(

I then found myself stacking shelves in a supermarket to try and cover my bills. Managed to take out a £5k loan, and start studying to pursue a career in IT. Finalyl found a job, working serious overtime, travelling all round the country all for £12k a year. ;/

Years later, I've finally worked my way up into a comfortable position. But my God, do I wish I stayed in school.

TLDR: Don't fuck around in school. Your friends you're trying to impress? You won't even remember them in 4 years time when you're flipping burgers in McDonalds. Study hard, get good grades, go to Uni / College. Shag hot fresh(wo)men.

Thanks for your inspirational words!

Uni is much more tough to enter now with much more people applying meaning I have to do much more extra curricular activities and volunteering to up my UCAS points. It will always be worth it I hope.

Back up plan... get a full-time job somewhere in a bid to bring in some cash for an apartment.

Well this is a coincidence, earlier I was trying to decide which programs I want to take in College (I am taking 2 programs, 1 after the other).

I am trying to decide if I want to General Construction and Entrepreneurship

or I can take residential construction and electrical technologies.

I'm thinking I may want to take the first option because I really want to start up a business when I'm older. I would REALLY like to start a business in custom order designs, where a customer needs something custom built and we would do it. I want to possibly get into carpentry and cabinetmaking for that and I want to take more manufacturing (welding) courses in grade 11 and 12 so I can work with both wood and metal.

Anyways, I'm only in grade 10 and can'r really decide yet, I'm going to my guidance counselor at school tomorrow and hopefully she'll help me decide.

Im about a year into my psych. degree, but I hate school. I just hate it so much. The people, the homework, everything!
I might switch majors though, and give it another try

I'm in community college right now (2 year college) and I applied to transfer to a 4 year college in the fall for an English major, but I haven't gotten a response yet.

I was like that when I first started college. It really took a good year for me to settle in and decide that getting my degree was really important. Give it some time, hopefully that feeling will wear off.

I'm going to a <Insert dramatic music here> community college! As of right now I'm getting my general ed. classes out of the way, and in about another year I'll be transfering to UCI (University of California: Irvine) for a four year degree in Software Development, which I'll put towards a career in game development. I'm also getting a minor in business to support me while finding development work.

Hope so too man... I know it's important, and I really don't want to let my family down, but just the thought of paying +$700 for a course I don't even need to show up for is making me cringe =/
