So I recently started playing my PS3 and Xbox on my monitor. I have a 1080p 23" Gateway monitor. The problem is, when I play a console game the picture is grainy. I don't have this problem with PC games. My PS3 is plugged in through HDMI and my Xbox is plugged in using VGA, both have the same problem. How do I get rid of the grain? Or should I go and buy a Samsung monitor?.. seeing as tho Samsung is a trusted manufacturer when it comes to TV's and stuff.

You should get an HDTV with multiple HDMI ports instead. I was researching on which gaming monitor I should get for my room.

HDTV cost more but it gets the job done, you could even use PS,PS2, Gamecube or Wii on the HDTV.

The new gaming monitors only offer HDMI.

I remember when I use to do that years ago before I got my HDTV. I used component to vga though and it looked fine. The screen was 19" so it actually looked better arguably than my 1080p 32" sony I play on now. Smaller the screen=higher the quality though you can pay to have a higher aspect ratio to keep the goodness, but my monitor at the time was no slouch.
