So after watching Microsoft's press conference at E3 this monday, where they showcased "Kinect" I was not blown away, but not disapointed either.

The games showed on the E3 show was about casual family gaming, including sports games, and tons of mini games. Which in my opinion is what we could expect, and for me this is only the start, in time i'm sure the devolopers will make their way to the more hardcore gaming area as well, using Kinect.

What do you guys think about the Xbox Kinect?

Well, by the looks if it, it seems i'll be the only person here suporting the Kinect.

Yes, the presentation @ E3 should've been alot better, and yes, the games they showed did not impress me either, and the movement with kinect sports did look weird.

But here's the thing: Kinect is a baby, infact it's a baby that hasn't been born yet. The devolopers don't know the hardware yet, and therefor they have not been able to blow us away with promising new titles.

Kinect sports is a Wii Sports rip off, and most likely it's gonna suck ass. But think about it, with this technology they can and will change the way we play a game. The face and voice recognition, and the way the device tracks every part of our body. I believe that Kinect does have a future, it's just a matter of time.

Kinect is a baby, and it's not even crawling :)
The developers do know the hardware of kinect they have been utilising it for months to see the results the piece of kit can produce.

I'm also supporting it with the numerous possibilites it can open with gaming as a whole. Most games i will still using the tradional controller but Kinect will be a purchase for sure for me

There's going to be no voice activation for those of us who live within Europe of Canada. There may be an update sometime next year that will activate it.

The languages that it will understand at launch are:

American English, British English, Japanese and Mexican Spanish.

Despite understanding both English and Spanish the feature will not be available in England or Spain.

It's a bit like launching a standard controller where the thumb sticks don't work...

Kinectimals is a launch title here in the UK that requires voice recognition according to the MS demonstration. I don't see how you can launch a game that won't work?

Well, I think it's a very interesting idea. But the problem is I don't see anything different than the wii or the ps3 move. I already have a wii and plenty of party games. So, I really don't know what to expect of it yet. But microsoft is definetly going after the casual gamer market, which kinda leaves us hardcore gamers in the dust.
I am heavy weapons guy.
