I coudn't watch Microsoft's conference because the Gamespot stream wasn't loading for me, so I just read IGN's live blog. I'm actually a bit more satisfied with the conference that I thought I would be.
So I'll share with you my thoughts, and I'll segment them. Just keep in mind I've only read about all of this, I haven't seen any of it, and also remember that I currently don't own an Xbox 360:

Call of Duty: Black Ops
Haven't seen the trailer, but I don't care, really. I have nothing against the CoD series but the games never interest me all that much. May buy it, who knows.

Fable 3
Didn't read much about it and haven't seen anything on it, but the series has always interested me.

Halo Reach
I've only played a Halo game once at a friend's house, so I don't have much experience at all with the series. The series has intrigued me for a while, and this one looks pretty cool to me. I'm liking the announcement of space vehicular combat, and the old reveal of jetpacks looks sweet.

EDIT: FORGOT MGS RISING
Well, this is another series I haven't played, but I'm interested in. I'll need to see the footage later, it sounds pretty cool. The only reason I haven't dived into the series is becasue I can't play the PS2 titles, which seem vital to understanding the story of the rest.

Kinect Presentations and Games
I thought all of the non-game stuff they showed was great, I like the fact that you can navigate the system and play movies and such without the use of a controller. Video chat is great, but expected, and I'm sure the ESPN stuff will be great for those that would use it (I wouldn't). As for the games, once again I haven't seen them, but they really don't seem like anything more than casual titles with some cool features. For example, I liked how that one game took pictures while you played that could be uploaded to Facebook, and I like how a lot of these games featured online play. There's nothing wrong with casual games, but I'll need some actual hardcore games if I'm ever gonna buy Kinect. One note-worthy game was a Harmonix Dance game; that's a pretty high-profile developer, and I'm sure that'll be a fun party game. Another would be that star wars game, that could be the hardcore game I'm looking for. It uses Kinect for force powers, adn I'd assume swordplay. I'm gonna have to look up videos for this one.

Now, this was the big deal for me out of the entire conference. I can tell you right now that I will be buying this system sometime this year; Microsoft finally got me. I haven't owned an Xbox to this day, but that day will come this year. The big kicker for me is the built-in Wifi for the standard $300 price. I only hook systems up online over wifi, so if I bought a 360 I'd have to have Wifi. Before this system, adapters cost $100. The large hard drive, and the fact that this new system is smaller, generates less heat, and is more quiet only sweetens the deal. And the new design? LOVE IT. A lot of you guys seem to be complaining about it, but I think it looks pretty sick, A LOT better than the current models. And this system has an easier port for Kinect usage, so that's a plus as well.


I think it was a 7.5/10 conference, gonna be watching Sony and Nintendo's tommorrow if I can. If not I'll just read a live blog like I did with Microsoft.
