Otherwise known as Matt Posts: 2,511 Group: Members Member #868 Joined: Jun 17, 2009	Alright, alright, I watched Sony's conference on G4TV, so I'll give my segmented thoughts, blah blah blah, you've me say variants of this already. Keep in mind I did watch the conference, and that I'm an owner of both a PS3 and PSP: Playstation Move and 3D on the PS3 I'm having a hard time really nailling my thoughts on these two things, but I'm gonna try to solidifu them in this post. I'll start with 3D. Personally, I'm not in love with 3D, but I have nothing against it. I think when no stupid, gimmicky stuff is created with it (paddle ball effect anyone?), the result can be very cool. Like in Avatar. Still, I'm not excited for 3D on the PS3 for two reasons: A. You need a newer HD tv, and my immediate family has never owned an HD tv of any kind B. It's a potentially exspensive endever that isn't truly neccessary I think for those that are ready for it and want it, 3D on the PS3 will be great. But how many people are there out there like that? Moving on to the Move, no pun intended. Considering the power behind the Wii Motion Plus combined with the Wii remote, I truly beleive that the Move is simply a better Wii Mote/Motion plus, with potential to be side by side with superior graphics to the Wii. It's gonna be a great asset to the PS3, and one that every PS3 user should probably take advantage of. Personally. I'll most likely be picking up the $100 Move/Subcontroller/Game bundle around it's release. But I don't think that Sony is going to steal the Wii's casual crowd, because that crowd simly won't feel the need. Anyone that would only be interested in strictly casual games already has a Wii or has interest in one, and Nintendo continues to cater to that crowd. Perhaps the console with better graphics and a blu-ray player would be the better choice for them, but the fact of the matter is, the Wii has been catering to that crowd for four years, and that crowd has grown very loyal to Nintendo's Wii. Sony needs to implement some extreme marketing if they want to sell a $300 system (add $100 for the move bundle) to those consumers who already are satysfied with their Wii, but I don't think Sony is willing to do that. Do they have to? I don't think so. People. Want. Good. Games. Games come first. Motion Control should always just be a feature of a game. If the almost entire reason I'm buying one of their Move games is because of the control, then how much attention was given to the actual game? I want motion control to work in tandem with the game, not the other way around. Nintendo gets that. Does Sony? I think they do, but not entirely. They showed off some stuff, both first and third party. The wizard fantasy game they showed that uses the Move. The game looked like it controls great with the controller and it would probably make the game more engaging, but that's the absolute only thing about the game that interested me. Tiger Woods 11 with Move Support. Looks like, in terms of control, a small step up from the Wii version of Tiger Woods 10, and a big step up in terms of graphics. This is more like it! Tiger Woods 11's Motion control looks promising, but I'm more excited for the Move Support in games like Killzone 3, Socom 4, Heroes on the Move, and Medal of Honor. Shooting controls for Socom 4, Medal of Honor and Killzone 3 will undoubtably work great with the controller. The one-to-one ratchet that Ratchet had in Heroes on the move looked like it could be cool. Infamous 2 would be cool with Move support, but where's the announcement for Move support? Software thoughts Killzone 3 Lookes a lot like Killzone 2, but with destructable walls and such, jetpack support (which looks sweet), and the Move and 3D stuff. Should be good, I want to see more on the Move support. Last Guardian Nothing new was shown... WTF?! Sly Collection Great idea. Continue the Infamous series, and port over the Sly titles to the PS3 to remind people about the series. Then, after Infamous 2, they can move onto Sly 4. I'm very excited to play through they Sly series, including my favorite game of all time Sly 2, with probable trophies. Think this one uses 3D. But why oh why did they only say the name of this game and give two very short glimpsses at it? Everything we know about it are essentially educated guesses. Infamous 2 I loved the original Infamous, and I'm sure this'll be great, but something about the trailer they showed was a real turn-off for me. I'm gonna have to see more. Heroes on the Move Has the potential to be an awesome Kingdom Hearts-esque crossover game, but I'll have to see more on this one as well. Sly and Bently are in the game, so that's a plus. Patapon 3 This is a HUGE announcement, but they gave us a 6 second clip within a motage... WTF?!?!? Twisted Metal Probably my favorite Ps3 title shown. Looks SICK, should be an awesome game. Can't wait to get ahold of it! God of War: Ghost of Sparta Will mostly be more of the same, but why not? I'm liking how it's focusing on the origin story of kratos. All of the Exclusive Third party stuff Very impressive. Games like Medal of Honor, Dead Space 2, and Portal 2 (beleive it or not) willl have exclusive PS3 content. The one I'm most excited for is a Move version of Dead Space Extraction, an excellent Wii on-rails-shooter, with Dead Space 2. Kevin Butler Appearence and New PSP Ad Campaign Kevin butler's appearence was hilarious, but ultimatly a cop-out. It was essentially 10 more minutes of Move talk, after we already heard 10 minutes of Move talk. The new kid they have that will basically act as the PSP's Kevin Butler is... OK. A little over-the-top obnoxious, but I think it may work. It would overall be smarter if Kevin Butler simply handled both PS3 and PSP advertizing. Playstation Network Plus I think the idea of a premium service on top of the standard, free service, is the right route to go. It's mostly going to be limited time with full games and early demos, but that sounds good enough for me. I'll most likely be signing up for my 1 year trial come the end of this month. Overall, the conference was disapointing, but not bad. 6.8/10 I'd say. Just not enough surprises, and dazzles.

It was not the first zelda game i played by a long shot, however it is my personal favourite. While I actually agree with Nintegra about the 64's release it was mostly graphical with me. It never pulled me in visually. Hey, I hated the second NES game for the same reason. It never pulled me in. With the graphics of the 3DS, this game could potentially appease me. Another reason why I didn't like the Zelda 64s, probably the more important reason and why I didn't like the 2nd NES, is that the world felt empty. That amplified the disdain I had with the art assets even more. While those screenshots still resonate that... the art actually invokes a bit of Shadows of the Colossus feel to it. Which is a good thing. Maybe the OoT 3DS will hook me. If they can manage to make it more comfortable than the DS then sony will probably have to pull out the handheld market lol. None of my peers would waste their time playing video games as a hobby. Unless their names are Johnny Millenium and Rob Man.

I am 32 next month myself and I don't have a hard time finding gamers but I have a hard time finding gamers of my age that can actually play instead of cleaning up dirty diapers lol. Regardless, Nintendo surprisingly killed this E3 for gaming.

Microsoft I was really disappointed with, Sony was overall just meh. Nintendo was great. I'll write something intelligent seeming and post it as I'm done.
