Super Nintendo and Playstation had MANY of the best RPG's of all time. It's a huge category however. Could you specify abit more? |

Without a question the best system to get would be a ps2. It is cheap and plays ps1 games and the ps1 was the best system for rpgs in my opinion followed by the SNES. A backwards compatible ps3 would actually be ideal, but that would be a pretty big investment and I heard of alot of backwards compatible ps3s actually broke. All in all it will end up being a pretty big investment because rpgs are the most expensive genre to collect for. |

I say go for the DS and/or the PS2. Each have a great collection of rpgs, but I find the ones on the DS to be a little more unique. |

PS2 but get a PS1 memory card as well (GameStop refurbished PS2's will run you only about $60!) That way you get the two most extensive RPG catalogs. |

I agree with the posters above... SNES had some great ones but they will be hard to find. DS has some great ones if you are on the move a lot. PS1 had a huge selection, and plays on the PS2 as well as PS3. I recommend getting a PS2 and a PS1 memory card, That opens you up to thousands of great games and it's not as pricey as a new system. But if you are out a lot and need portable, then DS all the way. |

Well as said before the SNES has plenty of good traditional JRPGS. You should also look into getting a PS2 with a PS1 memory card as said by other posters. There are TONS of JRPGS for both the PS1 and PS2, but it seems most of the PS1 JRPGS are pretty rare and expensive. |

I have to agree with everyone else here. I would highly recommend getting a PS2, DS and a Super Nintendo. Lots of really great RPGS on each of the systems, PS1 included with the PS2. |

Any system after the original Atari, and before the N64. Those was the days of RPG bliss. Sure the PS2, has RPG, games but many are boring compared to there PSX counter parts. The Dreamcast is also a fine contender, but that also means, you want to import stuff. The 360 is just the Windows blah blah blah version. |
|
We are all being lied to. We need to stop buying new videogames, destroy every 360, Wii, and PS3 you can find, including ones in stores. . Funcoland died when the evil gamestop took over. There is no more dragons den. Burn all the new videogames. destroy, and burn all 3d neo games. Fill ever forum with the message that we all need to hear. 2D OR DEATH. | |
