To not expect to get accepted lol. Nobody knows Youtubes TRUE criteria for getting accepted for partnership. Some people get in with under 1,000 subs and some can't get in with over 20,000 subs. It probably has to do a lot with view counts. |

Pete is right, I have seen a couple of channels with under 1000 subscribers who are partners but people with thousands and thousands of subscribers that arn't partners. Below are some requirements you can find on the partners page on Youtube (just to give you a look at some of the things Youtube may look for if you apply) You create original videos suitable for online streaming. You own or have express permission to use and monetise all audio and video content that you upload—no exceptions. You regularly upload videos that are viewed by thousands of YouTube users, or you publish popular or commercially successful videos in other ways (such as DVDs sold online). I went onto the parter page and clicked apply because it brings up a box telling you whether your likely to be accepted or not (I'm not :P) and in the box is the following "Applications are reviewed for a variety of criteria, including, but not limited to the size of your audience, country of residence, quality of content and consistency with our Community Guidelines and Terms of Use." |

I'd assume swearing will very much count against you, other than that who knows what the criteria is. I'd say, however, Youtube is fun, not a business. If you get partner it should be a way of supporting your hobby, not a goal. Unless your insanely talented, in which case, more power to you! |

I would say apply for the partnership at about 2000 subs. You might have a good chance at getting it then. |

Like Pete says it really just depends, a lot of it is down to You Tube's discretion. I was made a partner last week with 1600+ subs, so you dont really need thousands and thousands. Just something that makes you stand out. |

Okay here is the thing. Youtube, is basically giving you payouts to get more content for it's website. Let me make that clear. They are paying you to make people waste time watching your videos, you could be making real money from. I have a webpage. It has information on it. I corner a huge consumer race, on the planet ( like America ) to watch my stuff. This is saying that a huge amount of that consumer is watching my videos. Instead of buying my copyrights, they just decide to trick you into getting the amount of bus fair ( 2.50 ) to get more and more people to view there advertisments, and thus make them look more important. If you have over 1, 000 hits I believe instead of continuing with Youtube. you could port your video to your own website, and create a re-direct on youtube instead. Everytime somebody views your video they make money from ads placed in your video. There is also the concern, that somebody might pick up your video. Like the beer commercial, that used the christmas lights video. They are using your talent. Instead of making a personal website, and redirecting from youtube. They are trying to make them look like the only place to watch television. Think about it. People around the world is looking at youtube instead of learning how to encode video, make a website, and even program a forum like this one. They are dumbing down the internet. 2.50 peer every 1000 laid back, brainswashed person who beleives youtube is a futuristic thing. 2.50 not to learn how to encode video in Divx, Xvid, Mpeg2, SVCD, and WMV8 or 9. If people are willing to watch it, they should be willing to buy it on a VHS tape. Not a DVD, since it is just going to get uploaded super fast, and you would have file for protection rights against downloaders ( people like everybody who uses the internet ) or Balgarian pirates........party. You need to make your own website, and redirect from youtube. Like on Ebay and how they do not allow outside advertisments of other businesses. Like this website does not allow advertisment ( asides sales of related products, in the sales section ). Then get people ( like this website above ) to advertise, and request people to click the bar. You want 2.50 now, then you will need to get 1000, people to view your video ASAP. You can make more money cleaning tables for a living. Edited by RegalSin, Jul 2 2010, 01:41 PM.

We are all being lied to. We need to stop buying new videogames, destroy every 360, Wii, and PS3 you can find, including ones in stores. . Funcoland died when the evil gamestop took over. There is no more dragons den. Burn all the new videogames. destroy, and burn all 3d neo games. Fill ever forum with the message that we all need to hear. 2D OR DEATH. | |
