I'm looking for RPG's that are similiar to the Fallout, Oblivion, or Mass Effect series. I mean I want a game with a good combat and a game where you can make decisions that effect you further on.

Try the Fable series, I think it's just as good if not better than fallout and oblivion

The DSi has marginal upgrades from the DS Lite, so I would personally put that at the bottom of the list because there is nothing exclusive to the DSi that would warrant an upgrade. Wait for the 3DS.

Well, the DSL can play GBA games, so if you want to hold off on getting the 3DS ($300 for a handheld that will be obselete in 6 months when the 3DSLite comes out?), a cheap DSL might be the way to go.

RPG's........
Magna Carta 2
Spectral Force 3

Action / Adventure........
Bullet Witch
OneChanbara: Bikini Samurai Squad

Aren't all of these games, I dunno, universally hated? How could you recommend them to anyone?

I hear Tatsunoko VS Capcom is pretty good. Never played it myself, but it's supposedly like the Marvel VS series and you can play as Zero, so that kinda automatically makes it awesome (oh, and Mega Man from the Legends series).

Oh, and then there's TMNT Smash Up, but that's just a lame Smash Bros. clone.

Already have Tatsunoko. Great game!

I'll most likely check out the TMNT game, as I'm a fan of TMNT. Thanks for the suggestion(s). :)

You might want to try out Naruto Shippuden Clash of Ninja Revolution 3, it's surprisingly a very good fighting game, you'll like it even more if you happen to watch/red naruto. There are also quite a bit of active users for the wifi battles.

Know any good RPGs available on the Playstation Store (PSP or PS3, either's fine)? I have a $23.01 Visa Gift Card I'd like to use. Also, if you know any great RPGs on sale on Steam that are noteworthy, that'll be cool.

So far for PC I have The Witcher, Elder Scrolls III: Morrowind, Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion, Recettear: An Item Shop's Tale, and Torchlight.

For non retail-based Playstation Store games, I have all the Atlus RPGs for PSP that I'm aware of (Class of Heroes, Hexyz Force, Crimson Gem Saga, Riviera: The Promised Land, Shin Megami Tensei: Persona, Shin Megami Tensei: Persona 3, Yggdra Union), and then Sega's Valkyria Chronicles 2. (Then the PSOne Classics: Wild Arms, Wild Arms 2, Suikoden).

Have I missed any good downloable PS3 or PSP RPGs available on the Playstation Store that you'd recommend?

Thanks.
I'd reccommend getting Ys Oath in Felghana, I've only played a bit but so far it's a delightful Action-RPG.

Dissidia's also fantastic, but the game has heavy Fighter aspects to it, so if that's not your thing you can think (Dissidia does have moderatly heavy RPG aspects).

Half Minute Hero is an AWESOME game for any RPG fan. Some would argue it's a puzzle game, but the RPG elements are definatly there.

I didn't play too much of this title, and it's been a while, but I remember enjoying Final Fantasy Crisis Core.

Also keep in mind that Final Fantasy 7, 8, and 9 are available as PSone Classics.

I haven't played these but have heard good things:
Cladun
Jeane D'ark
Final Fantasy Tactics
Ys 7

Ones to look for coming out in 2011:
Final Fantasy 4: Complete Collection
Ys 1 and 2 Chronicles
Dissidia Duodecim 012

Xenogears is an absolute must for any RPG fan, so I would highly recommend starting with that. Second, Silent Hill is a classic suvival horror game that might not have aged as well as others in the genre, but it still holds up in terms of atmosphere and gameplay. The others listed are good but unremarkable, so the first two I would recommend personally.

These aren't the droids we're looking for.

I'm looking for a good PS3-exclusive RPG for under $40ish.

And... go!

Should I get an actual Sega Master System, or should I just go for the Power Base Converter right now? I collect Sega hardware, but I'm kind of leaning towards the Power Base Converter because I wouldn't have to worry about yet another power supply and AV connection. There any benefits to one or the other besides that?

RPG's........
Magna Carta 2
Spectral Force 3

Action / Adventure........
Bullet Witch
OneChanbara: Bikini Samurai Squad

Aren't all of these games, I dunno, universally hated? How could you recommend them to anyone?
Because I own all of these titles and have actually played them.

Bullet Witch is a 2006 360 game and it still holds up today in my opinion. It was the game that made me fork out the cash to pick up the 360. Its fast paced and has huge bosses. does it use the full power of the 360? nope but most early 2006 games didn't. does this mean its a bad game? not in my opinion. plus you can pick this up dirt cheap so I recommend it to anyone that likes fast paced action games.

Spectral Force 3 is a great turn based RPG with a lot to offer and very high replay vale due to the fact that you can choose to support ten different factions. This is a great turn based RPG and I highly recommend it to anyone that likes Fire Emblem.

Magna Carta 2 is a great RPG and the only negative press I have saw for it was "This has been done thousands of times in other games" complaint about the story line. I dont consider this bad in the RPG genre if somethings not broken why change it? besides every kingdom has a princess that needs saving!!!!!

OneChanbara: Bikini Samurai Squad is another game that was made in 2006 in Japan but didn't make it over seas until 3 years later so it does look dated compared to games of 2009 but there is still plenty of fun to be had. Also there isn't a lot of great Hack and Slash games on the console.

Just because a games gets bad reviews or negative press dont mean its a bad game there are plenty of games that people dont give a chance because of reviews that are truly great games. while these titles may not be the very top of there genres there well worth the price you would pay now to pick them up so i have no problem in recommending them.

I'm looking for a good PS3-exclusive RPG for under $40ish.

And... go!
Valkyria Chronicles

This is a must have game on the PS3 if you like turn based RPG's. It was severely underrated and didn't generate near the amout of press it deserves. It was made by the same Sega team that made Skies of Arcadia and powered with the CANVAS engine, which simulates a watercolor painting in motion so simply put the graphics are gorgeous! This is still in my Top RPG's for the PS3!

Amazon has it right now on sale for $20.92 (1/2 off) and at that price its a steal.

http://www.amazon.com/Valkyria-Chronicles-Playstation-3/dp/B0016C3260/ref=cm_lmf_tit_6/175-1691235-6412868

Since you got $40 to spend you could also pick up 3D Dot Game Heroes from amazon as well since its on sale for $19.14 right now and relive some old school Zelda style goodness.
