Well, I have my eyes on either Dragon Quest V and VI for the DS or Radiant Historia. Which do you guys think is the more worthwhile purchase here? (If I went with DQ V & VI I would be spending about $32, or it would be about $35 for RH. I think either way I go, it'll be an excellent deal.)

Hey guys, I've been wanting to get an FPS for my Wii. I'm going to wait on The Conduit though as I want a more a realistic war like one (i.e. Call of Duty and Medal of Honor). I do however want the game to feature the precision controls that everyone is raving about in The Conduit, this is very crucial. I also would like the game to have good online functionality with many people playing online so its never hard to find others to play with, you know what I mean lol. Lastly I would like it to have the best graphics of any FPS on the Wii (once again being one of those realistic war games, not The Conduit or anything). I know one of you or more probably owns many Wii FPS's and can narrow down my specifications to the one that is right for me. It is greatly appreciated and thank you to whoever can do this for me. :)
I would suggest against COD but you should get it for PS3, XBOX or Computer as the wii versions are CRAP!!! not only the controlls, but parts of the game are taken off such as graphics, split screen, killstreaks, spec ops missions, only online play for survival (even solo) and it takes forever for me to find a match on that anyway. i have also heard some roumors that the disc is defective. My wii wont read discs anymore and MW3 is the prime suspect. I had only bought last story when it happened too.

but anyway, for suggestions, i cant really help for all of your requirements as i only have Metroid Prime Trilogy (although it is 3 games for the price of one, two of which are gamecube only releases) but sorry, can't help you there.

Have you ever played any DQ games? If you have and liked it, go for it! Well, I would. You'll have a lot of fun, a loooong time of gameplay for less than RH alone. I would get them and wait for RH to drop the price.

Hey everyone, i'm looking to buy a system in a few weeks and collect for it, but i'm not sure what I should get.

The options are:
1. Super Nintendo
2. Gameboy Advance SP
3. Nintendo DSi XL
4. Playstation 2
5. Original XBOX

I currently have a NES, Nintendo 64 & Playstation as my retro systems, which of the list above should I add as my next one?

Some background on each system and why I want to purchase and the first games I would pick up for it:

1. Super Nintendo - Grew up with it real nostalgia value for me, plus i missed quite a few SNES gems such as Super Metroid, A Link to The Past & Final Fantasy II & III (American release numbers.) Getting those plus playing my old favorites would be sweet!

2. GBA SP - Used to have one and tonnes of games I would like to play, in particular Golden Sun & Golden Sun: The Lost Age, as I never beat those games and some old Gameboy games like Super Mario Land 2, Donkey Kong and Link' Awakening and Pokemon Crystal which are my favorite handheld games I would LOVE to play those again.

3. DS XL - I would get the XL model, but the DS has a tonne of games im interested in, and right now is a great time to buy it since it just had a price drop, the first games I would pick up are GTA: Chinatown Wars, Chrono Trigger, 999, Castlevania & Contra 4.

4. PS2 - I missed alot of Ps2 Classics such as Ratchet & Clank, Sly Cooper, Jak, MGS 3: Snake Eater and Final Fantasy. I had the system for a while but i still missed some classics, so I would start with those.

5. Original XBOX - I'm really interested in playing some original Xbox games like Star Wars: Knights of The Old Republic, Halo 2, Fable & Forza. Plus checking out the Splinter Cell series and some Dreamcast game sequels and Rareware games like Conker & Grabbed by the Ghoulies.

So if you got through all that, I plan on getting all of them eventually but which based on the above should i get first, please any help would be greatly appreciated! :D

SNES is overall my favorite system, so I would say go for that. As long as you don't mind not having complete copies, you can get a lot of good SNES games for cheap, although there are some incomplete games that could still cost a lot.

Even though the DSi XL has some nice large screens, a DS Lite might be a better option because you can play DS and GBA games. I notice you're also interested in the GBA. So you would benefit more by having a single system that plays both. DS Lites are also very cheap nowadays, too.

Not sure about original Xbox. I know the consoles can some times be expensive. The games are very cheap though. I see them on Amazon for around $5 on the warehouse deals section. You could probably build up an original Xbox collection pretty quickly.

Overall I would choose either an SNES or DS Lite, both if you can afford it. Other than those two, the original NES and Sega Genesis (Megadrive to some) have given me the most gaming enjoyment. PSP is also pretty good. I mainly like it for its RPGs and digital download games. It also has some good beatem ups and platformers.

Thanks for your input appletsauce, i don't need complete copies so i might go with SNES right now, cause prices keep going up so i should get the games before games go up even more.

I'd say SNES, imo it has the best library of any console in history.

I'm intrigued by the Dragon Quest series... Only problem is that I'm only a light RPG player (I have only played and finished a hand full), and there are quite a few Dragon Quest games. Basically, I need help finding the right Dragon Quest game to get me into the series. I'm open to all suggestions, I just don't want to buy the wrong game and end up being turned off by it, you know?

Dragon Quest is a tough series to start out with if your a light RPG player. If you haven't played any of them before I would probably suggest DQIX seeing as it's the easiest and last entry in to the series thus far. These games are VERY true to the early games so don't expect big cut scenes or impressive magic skills but rather the same magic from the first few games released. They also for the most part use the same level of difficulty which I would say is at the medium to medium high level depending on the game. Grinding is your friend in this series so get very use to it.

Hey guys, I was recently replaying Paper Mario: The Thousand Year Door for the first time in awhile, and I forgot how much I loved the battle system. Y'know, pressing the button at the right moment to boost your attack or defense. (Or, my personal favorite, Superguarding.)

So what I'm trying to get at is, are there any other good RPGs that use this kind of battle system (or something similar)? It seems like the only ones I can find are the other Mario RPG games.

Thanks.

EDIT: Oh, and while I'm here, I've never played a traditional Final Fantasy game. (Though I've played the Crystal Chronicles spin-off series which was enjoyable enough). Any particular one I should start at? Thanks again.

Thanks alot! I'll look into it for sure. I'm certainly used to grinding, and one of my favorite RPG's that I have played is Chrono Trigger, so I definitely will feel welcome to the classic style of the Dragon Quest games.

Hey guys! I'm looking for some new games to play because lately I've been resorting to playing MW3 online :p Anywho, I'm looking for games on Steam, PS2, PS3, and N64. I like platformers, action/adventure games, some shooters and RPG's. I know, very broad but I'm also looking for games that have preferably (if for PS3 or Steam) and solid single player and online. Trophy support on PS3 is a great plus! Any suggetions would be greatly appreciated!

All the game you have listed are great titles so picking just one is a hard task.

I feel that Kirby's Return to Dreamland was very underrated and I regard it as being one of the best titles on the Wii and one of the best Kirby games to date. like most Kirby games it starts off easy and the difficultly ramps up as you progress through the game. If you like classic 2D platformers you cant go wrong getting this title.

Xenoblade is one of if not the best RPG this generation so if your into RPG's then you should pick this one up as well.

If you like dungeon crawlers, Orcs & Elves by iD Software is fairly decent and it's pretty cheap.

I am looking for games I can pick up in a trip to Las Vegas in December. Anyone got any ideas? I have a N64, GBA, PS3, PS1 (if there is any region lockout item,) DS, PS3 and Xbox 360 although I may get a new system while I am over there. I like RPG's Platformers, Shu'mups, Action, Extreme Sports and Racing games. I have a budget of around $1200 although I may spend some on Ebay if I can't find some of the games I want.

Tomba/Tomba 2 if you are into RPG/Platformer hybrids. They are not cheap, but you seem to have a big budget and it will only slightly dent it. GBA Golden Sun 1/2. PS1: FF7/FF9, Suikoden 1/2(2 is very expensive, but one of the best RPGs ever made), Grandia(playing that right now and it is great so far), the Lunar box sets if you happen to come across them, and Xenogears. I have heard great things about Einhander(Shoot em up for ps1 made by Squaresoft).

I am sure other people have some recommendations, but those are some games I highly recommend, but they aren't cheap. Make sure to look up prices so you don't get ripped off. If you see any of these games in good condition and going for ebay or below prices, I highly recommend you pick them up.

I'm getting a PS3 for Christmas. I mostly want it to play the Jak and Daxter HD Collection and the Uncharted series, but aside from that I'm not sure what else to get. Can anyone recommend me some exclusives that are worth checking out? I will mention, I am not a big fan of RPGs, I know there are quite a few on the console.

Im in between picking a superboy(snes) (youtube it)
or a Genesis they both have a nostalgic impact on me but im not sure which one to pick first.

any suggestions?
Why bother with the Supaboy when you could just get an SNES for easily half the price? The Supaboy is a nice novelty, but nothing beats the actual hardware. Having said that, the Genesis is also a good choice, so research which one has the games you want. Both have stellar libraries, so your best choice will depend entirely on your taste in games.
