I'm getting a PS3 for Christmas. I mostly want it to play the Jak and Daxter HD Collection and the Uncharted series, but aside from that I'm not sure what else to get. Can anyone recommend me some exclusives that are worth checking out? I will mention, I am not a big fan of RPGs, I know there are quite a few on the console.
Since your into Jack and Daxter you should check out The Sly Cooper games and the Ratchet and Clank games on the PS3.

The Sly Collection HD
Sly Cooper: Thieves in Time (comes out Feb 12th)
Ratchet & Clank Collection HD
Ratchet & Clank Future: Tools of Destruction
Ratchet & Clank Future: A Crack In Time
Ratchet & Clank: Quest For Booty
Ratchet and Clank: All 4 One (this one is my least favorite of the series as its not a typical Ratchet and Clank game)
Ratchet & Clank: Full Frontal Assault

non RPG favorite exclusives...

inFAMOUS and inFAMOUS 2
Heavenly Sword
God of War III
Yakuza series
PlayStation All-Stars Battle Royale (Sony's Smash Bros. clone)

Thanks for the suggestions! I forgot to mention I will definitely be picking up PS All-Stars as well. Even though I had a PS2 back in the day, I've never played the Sly Cooper or Ratchet and Clank games so I will check out those HD Collections as well.

I saw a friend play inFAMOUS once, that looks right up my alley as well.

So whenever I get a new system I try to get at least one game from different genres. I just got a Vita and I want a good racer. I tried the demo of Motorstorm RC and though It took a bit to get used to, I thought it was a pretty cool game. Is it worth it to shell out the full price even without an online multiplayer feature? Thanks!

I'm trying to get back into videogames after a bit of a hiatus while I got caught up in highschool and whatnot. I'm on the home stretch now and would like some games recommended to me.

I don't have any of current gen consoles, or very latest handhelds. And sadly I came a bit too late to gaming as a youngster so I don't really have anything earlier than a PS1 either. This is what I have currently on hand:
PS1
PS2
GBA SP
DS Lite
PSP 3000
and a reasonably powerful laptop that plays modern games well.

I'm not opposed to shelling out for a cheap retro system if I can find one, but money is a wee bit tight and would prefer recommendations for what I have already.

As a child, some of my favourite games were Pokemon (GB-GBA, didn't like the DS ones much), Ratchet and Clank, Tony Hawk (THPS-THUG2), Jak and Daxter, Croc, and a bit of Crash and Spyro - though I can't say I ever played much of those two sadly.
Recently I've really enjoyed playing Crisis Core FFVII, and the Portal and Half-Life series. I'm not very good at FPS's but I enjoyed the Half-Life games immensely. I love Portal to bits.

Another note; I live in New Zealand so my consoles are PAL region. Feel free to mention games that only had a European release, and obviously I can't play games that are NTSC exclusive.

I would suggest investing in a 3DS XL. Not only will you be able to play games from the excellent library of 3DS games, which has many promising and exciting titles coming soon (Animal Crossing New Leaf, Fire Emblem, Etrian Odyssey IV, Luigi's Mansion 2, Castlevania, and many many more!) Additionally, you can even play DS games on the system, which I'm not entirely sure you're aware, but the number of games for the original DS, and the number of must-play, TOP TIER games for the DS would keep you busy for a lifetime. Unbelievably robust, with great games from all genres imaginable, with a very nice library of RPG's especially.

The system may be a bit expensive, but trust me, it'll be worth it. SO many good games to keep you busy for years and years to come, honestly!

OK, i'll start the ball rolling. I don't know what game i should be getting next, can anybody help me???

I've got a short list of:

Modnation Racers
Demons Souls (new release in the UK)
Lego Harry Potter

What would you recommend from these choices and why?

Also I would like a decent online co-op game for the 360 as I've just renewed my gold membership and haven't played it for ages, it could be a new or old release i'm not too bothered. Any good suggestions?

Fire Emblem Awakening or Pandora's Tower? I don't need an explanation or description, just help to make a definitive call. Only buying one today and it's basically a coin flip. Which should it be?

Go for Fire Emblem. People seem to say better things about it.

You should check out Sonic Colors if you haven't yet since you like Sonic games and have a Wii. In my opinion Its one of the best Sonic games that's been made in a long time.

I'm considering getting a PS Vita game today, but there are several factors to take into consideration. First and foremost, everyone is going to tell me to get P4G, but the thing is I'm already a huge SMT fan and playing SMT IV at present. I've also completed P4 a couple times, played arena, watched the anime etc. I can go without Persona 4 for now. My other two options I'm considering are Soul Sacrifice, which is 10 dollars cheaper than the other game I'm considering, Muramasa the Demon Blade HD. The pro to Soul Sacrifice is that it's cheaper, but the con is that I'm also playing God Eater currently and feel like the two conflict as they're in the same genre. As for Muramasa, it's more expensive and I'm trying to save up a little because im going to an anime convention next week. In all truth, any of the choices would satisfy me, but I'm wondering what your opinions are. I need the push. Thanks!

I cant really help you much since I don't own a vita but I will say that Muramasa is a great game. If you like side scrolling action games with RPG elements you cant go wrong with Muramasa. I haven't played the Vita port of it but being in HD would be a nice bonus to whats already one of the best looking games out there.

I will admit to being a huge Vanillaware fan!

since you are playing god eater currently I would save soul sacrifice for later. But also since you mentioned you are going to an anime convention soon I would just save my money and continue playing the games you already have. if you have to buy a game between those two get muramasa rebirth. but I would also recommend AC3 liberation on the vita if u don't already have it

PSP and NDS games are region free so you can get it from wherever you want :)
i've got a modded PS1 and PS2 so I can import games from the states. they sure have a lot of meat from over there.
and yeah, I do understand living all the way down here. selection is very limited :(

hmmm.... what to buy: Lightning FFXIII-2 version figure, Fire Emblem: Path Radiance, Persona 1-3 portable or Brigandine for PS1 :(
