For me it's anything from Pop-Punk to REAL METAL LIKE IRON MAIDEN...I can't stand modern day metal bands...they are just so..."OMG WE'RE HARDCORE!" and it makes them look like douchebags. Let the hate on me begin...haha. Seriously, though. I give all music a chance, but I mostly like Punk, Progressive, and Indie Rock the most.

I listen to artists such as: Sadistik, Grieves, Atmosphere, Blu, Jedi Mind Tricks, Army of the Pharaohs, Dessa, CunninLynguists and Tonedeff when I play video games. I also like to listen to soundtracks for some reason, I like instruments lol.

I mostly listen to bands like HIM or Lacuna Coil. (Just 2 examples, I listen to much more than that - just my two favourites)

It's just like music takes away from the game some how. Except some games like Mario I'm completely fine with. I like games where you can edit the sound so you can turn the music off but still be able to hear all the talking so I can listen to music and not miss a bit of action in the game.

I use to listen to them, but like RHCP I've heard their songs SO much that I never want to listen to them ever again. Techno/Trance, and 80's are the best! I love just about every genre of music though, but the majority of Rap and Country can F-off.

I usually listen to Rock, Alternative, Metal, Rap (pretty much only Eminem), and sometimes a bit of Punk Rock.

When gaming though it depends on the game. if i'm just leveling up in an rpg then i'll chuck on anything but if it's a more focused effort i like to actually hear the sound effects n stuff, hate people sneakin up on me and getting knived in battlefield.
