Pink Floyd has to be the greatest band ever! They changed how music is and not only how to play but to produce. If you listen to their work from the 70's it sounds like it was produced in the 2000's. No one really know how they did this but they did it; and did it perfectly!

I also love the music. It is laid back and tells you what they were feeling in a different way than what you would think. They didn't even need you to sing and you could just feel the emotions from the music.

I want to know everyones favorite band and why they love them!

Well right now I can't really decide, I always listen to one band for a while then switch to another band, right now I'm really into Atreyu, Saosin, Secret and Whisper, and some of Linkin Park's old stuff.

Well I suppose my three top bands are from three different kinds of rock oriented music. I don't have just one favorite band and I'm always looking for bands I haven't heard before or new bands. There is still great music coming out today you just have to find it on the internet.

Anyways generally my three top bands are Tom Petty|Heartbreakers, Bad Religion and Sunny Day Real Estate. Tom Petty because it was the first band I got into when I was like six or seven and is still putting out music that is good to this date and nothing takes away from the classics either. Bad Religion generally because of the punk lifestyle (though I was a Offspring fan first before I got into BR) and just the whole making your own decisions and not just following someone else your whole life or a crowd.

Sunny Day Real Estate for just expanding my musical taste and getting into dozens and dozens and dozens of other independent bands. Sunny Day Real Estate was one of the first emo bands and while emo is pretty much a blasphemous word these days that has been dragged through the mud because of terrible fashion and mainstream use they showed me how emotional and meaningful music could be and it wasn't just about screaming as loud as you could all the time either. It was more focused originally lol

Anyways I don't want to keep going on and on, but since someone made this topic and wow just under a hour ago, here I am responding. But yeah my youtube channel is tagged to sports and music for a reason with a third of videogames as well :)

I do the same thing all the time. I was going through a Lady Gaga thing for a while and then I started listening to Mayhem. Pink Floyd is my fav though. I might not listen to them for maybe a month or two straight but I have almost all of their albums.

I can't pick a favorite band since I love so many, but I do agree that Pink Floyd is among the best. I own all of their albums and I listen to them regularly, especially their live albums "P.U.L.S.E" and "Delicate Sound of Thunder". I also feel that their lesser-loved albums like "The Final Cut", "Division Bell" and "A Momentary Lapse of Reason" are criminally underrated. David Gilmour is also one of the best guitar players in my opinion.

Outside of the obvious choices like The Beatles and Led Zeppelin, I would consider Radiohead to be one of the best bands in my opinion. Each album is a sonic adventure and they have only gotten more experimental and daring with each progressive album. Their popularity peacked with "OK Computer", but I have have huge respect for their going experimental with "Kid A" and the subsequent records. Many don't like them and others write them off as a 90's band that peaked early, but they are still one of my favorite bands.

I have to admit, for the longest time Rammstein was my fav. band hands down, but after the release of the album "Rosenrot" I finally said "screw this..." they just suck now... I didn't even buy their newest album when it hit the stores; I was turned off after listening to some samples in a cd store.

But currently my favorite band has to be FunkerVogt.
While I admit that their 2billion remixes can get annoying at times, and that "Navigator" severely lacked in "danciness" They still remain one of my favorite bands, simply because they don't specifically just create harsh industrial dance music, but because they actually manage to pull off the slower, more carefully choreographed ballads; unlike Rammstein, where the love-songs simply seem forced and unfitting to the overall flow of the album.

Metallica, a lot of people don't like them for the Napster thing or for Saint Anger, but at least every album from them has a different sound instead of just the same thing every album. And every album they release I just love (yes even Saint Anger).. Very close to them is DragonForce, yeah I know flame me. But they are A-mazing. I just wish they were never on Guitar Hero. For some reason people started hating them as soon as that game was released =\. I've seen them live four times (twice before the whole Guitar Hero thing happened) and they blew me away. Herman Li is by far one of the best guitarists out there today. (in Metal at least.)

No it doesn't. Just requires a little digging to find the good stuff, as does everything else in life.

Well, I would say Coldplay.

Back when I was a kid it used to be Linkin Park.

And now, about Coldplay...
Why I like them?
Beacuse their songs are somewhat simple yet still beautiful and great for some sad or confusing moments. Their lyrics are amazing in my opinion, yet many people probably hate them beacuse they are popular and commerically succesful.

Thats such a sad way to look at things IMO. You cant just lump everything together like that. I guess led zep, the beatles, jethro tull, slayer, metallica (insert any band or performer from the last hundred years) suck and only bach, mozart, rachmaninoff and wagner are good.

I think my mood changes my fav band so i cant really say, i like a lot of metal but hell, i like a lot of pop, jazz, funk and classical too.

At this moment in time...Kyuss, Crowbar, White Zombie, bossk and jethro tull are all up there. all very unique and very different...though still in keeping with my love of rock music.

Oh and Xsleepyx3, nice to hear some love for orange goblin. Was a huge fan before the coup de grace album.

He's not saying music now sucks because it's new, he's saying that people nowadays aren't REAL musicians.

I'm only sixteen and I hate most bands today. Tool is pretty damn good though.

My favorite band is Black Sabbath. Led Zeppelin second. Iron Maiden third.
